Hello
i had my 20 week scan today and I was told that I have a low lying placenta but apart from that my baby (girl :D) is progressing as expected.

Does anyone had this and have an uncomplicated birth?

is there anything I can do to lower any risks associated with a low lying placenta?

thanks x

Most move out of the way by 36 weeks, I was rescanned and it was fine, had a normal birth no issues x

Mine moved out of the way, so did my friend’s.. I wanted a c-section anyway but she had a vaginal birth and it wasn’t an issue

Last pregnancy I was told the same at 20 weeks, it had moved by 33 weeks. My growth scans confirmed it. I had an uncomplicated vaginal birth.

Mine didn’t move and I had a very relaxing an uncomplicated planned preterm section.

i had this at 20 weeks and was rescanned at 31+4 (now 32) weeks and it was no longer low lying. 9/10 low lying placentas at 20 weeks move up and out the way :) hopefully yours will do the same!

I had my scan last week and have the same too so booked in for a re-scan at 32 weeks. Been told that 9/10 move up as your womb grows and everything stretches, so would say it's nothing to worry about right now as the odds are it will move. Taking it as a good opportunity to see my baby again😊

If it doesn't move then worst case scenario would be a c-section, which I would be totally fine with as long as baby arrives safe x
