Going down a rabbit hole with nub theory (yes I know I am crazy) - Is this definitely a boy!

I had my 12 week scan on Tuesday (measuring 13 weeks) and curiosity got the better of me and I decided to send my scan picture to Early Glimpse, who came back with 99% confidence of it being a boy. For some reason, I am driving myself crazy and have read every forum on how these results can be wrong. I know we will have to wait until the 16 week mark to find out, but do these pics definitely look like a boy? Are they similar to yours at all or has anyone received such a high % and it be wrong?

Thank you (one crazy mama-to-be)!.

The first one definitely looks like a boy to me, I’m no expert but I am having a boy myself. Looks like a little widger sticking up to me!

Yes definitely a baby boy. Nub is very short and it stacked. Also the bladder position is further away. It’s definitely a baby boy.

girl nubs are flat and longer than the baby and their bladder is very close to the nub.

don’t stress over it.

I would say so.

Looks very boyish to me!

Why are you stressing?

That’s a boy. How come you’re stressing about it? Were you hoping for a girl?

Nub theory is just that, a theory.
No one can tell you for 100% certainty what sex the baby is based on a nub. You can have an educated guess but no better than that.

It’s a boy :)

Its a very good nub shot, and very boy. I had 4 gender scans at 12 weeks and they were all correct using the nub theory. Hope you get your son :)

Not definitely a boy at all, the nub theory is little more than guess work.

Report
BlueBunny23 · 03/09/2022 05:43

The nub theory is not guess work it’s very accurate. The nub is the baby’s developing genitalia, a baby measuring 13weeks with a good shot of the nub is highly accurate. OP if you Google nub predictions there are companies who you can pay between £5-£25 and send them your photos they will draw and label what your looking at and give you a %, which looking at your photo I’d say 99%. There are groups on Facebook it’s free to post your photos on, nub theory queens, you will get many people on there commenting. I had over 350 people tell me I was having a girl, and I paid for 5 private drawings, They all said girl. I’d had a blood test that said a boy. So I was confused!! But she’s all girl just as the nub said she was

Thank you all, I really appreciate your comments. We already have a DD and don’t have a preference, I just got drawn in to all of the ‘hype’ over nub theory! We won’t go and buy blue yet, but reassuring that it’s a good nub picture 🙂 xx

I didn't send my photo anywhere just posted on the forums for a bit of fun guessing, and got a lot of responses saying definitely a boy and she's a girl!

I sent my 12 week scan to Early Glimpse and it came back 90% girl.

I'm having a boy!

Looking at babys forhead definitely looks like a boy. I was told boys are flatter and girls are more rounded. Was true for my two.
Congrats OP!

I've heard of this happening so many times. People get really upset about it when it turns out to be wrong. There is a blood analysis service to show gender very early on, I can't remember exactly how many weeks.
It claims something like 99% accuracy and offers money back if incorrect but it's most likely only 50/50.
I know a girl who has had 3 terminations due to gender based from tests like these - either a nub shot or blood test. Nub is more than 50/50, but when it came out that so many of the blood tests were incorrect she can't stop wondering if the genders of the pregnancies she ended really were what she was told they were

@TheLighthouse23 this is my second child and I was surprised because I was totally convinced I was having a boy, which as it turns out, I'm thrilled to be Grin.

Is it the Sneak Peek? If so, I did that with my daughter. It's 50% accurate if you do it at home but I paid more and went to a clinic to have blood drawn at 10 weeks. It's only accurate to 99% through the blood test.

Congratulations!! I have four and never could tell.. even though we know it's either going to be one or the other it's ridiculously exciting to find out. I could never wait for a surprise
I don't remember the name of the company but she did it at home and sent it off to America. She got a certificate saying congratulations youre having a... Which was unfortunately not what she wanted. But she assumed it was highly accurate so finding out it isn't a few years down the line threw her. To say the least

@Faye19900 i was convinced my second was going to be a boy as my pregnancy was completely different from my first which was a girl. Everything from the start was totally different. She’s definitely a girl. Now pregnant with my third, again a very different pregnancy from the other two, it’s another girl.

@Faye19900 early glimpse was wrong for me and wrong for my friend at both 95%.
