Tests aren’t getting darker

I’m 13dpo and got my first faint bfp 8dpo. Since 11dpo I can’t see any progression and I’m worrying about having another loss. I’m considering not testing for a few days. Did you have this? Was everything OK or did this mean bad news?

Frer top taken 11dpo bottom 13dpo
Easy@home 11,12,13 dpo

The test line can only get so dark xxx

ABitWooInnit · 01/09/2022 09:39

They're not getting darker because that's as dark as they get!

If you got a faint one at first you'd get a progression. But your first is super dark.

Stop worrying and enjoy your pregnancy! Congratulations

Essexgalhere · 01/09/2022 10:02

@ABitWooInnit @FirstTimeTryer93 thank you both xx I miscarried twins 9 weeks in April
I know they are super dark, I guess because they’re not dye stealers I’m panicking! lol xx

How far apart were the FRER taken? With my FERE the first line got darker than the second line and the second line was barely there by 16dpo.
iv had losses that start out my lines not progressing and it is very sad as you’ve only just learnt your pregnant then it appears it’s not happening anymore and it is awful I had it happen 3 times.

Essexgalhere · 01/09/2022 10:39

@BlueBunny23 Sorry for your losses. The top was taken Tuesday and bottom today Thursday

Maybe I should do another FRER Sunday at 16dpo and see if it dye steals

The best thing you can do is stop testing. You have a very strong positive and testing over and over is causing you more stress and anxiety. It's much better to step away from the testing.

greenerfingers · 01/09/2022 10:51

100% agree with the above PP. Stop testing, it's not healthy at all. Try to take your mind off of it and just distract yourself. Sorry if that sounds cold, I've had a second trimester loss so do get it but I know from experience shutting off was the best thing for me till I passed my anxiety.

gamerchick · 01/09/2022 10:53

Howay man, you're joking aren't you? They're not going to get any darker than that OP. Stop testing before it drives you batshit

Essexgalhere · 01/09/2022 11:06

@greenerfingers @ItsSnowJokes @gamerchick thank you all. I guess it’s easy to compare and worry that others get dye stealers but mine look the same over 3 days! I will stop testing, I know testing doesn’t change the outcome of what happens anyway xx thanks for the kick up the bum it’s needed haha

Agree! Distract distract distract yourself and do a FRER FMU first thing Sunday. Easier said than done I know, been there so many times.

In case you panic... I never got a dye stealer in any pregnancies, not the miscarriages or the two beautiful children I got from pregnancies that did work out.

Tests will only reassure you for so long but I get the desperation to get that hit of comfort. Remember this pregnancy is a new egg, a new sperm. You are so much more likely to be ok this time.

Lots of walks in the fresh air to distract!

ABitWooInnit · 02/09/2022 06:15

WTF is a dye stealer?

BlueBunny23 · 02/09/2022 07:21

@ABitWooInnit this was my dye stealer at 16dpo; it’s basically when the hormone is so high it steals the dye from the other line

ABitWooInnit · 02/09/2022 08:12

I've had 4 pregnancies and did a lot of tests for each one and have never had that.

Surely that's just a faulty test? Nothing to do with the strength of the pregnancy!

BlueBunny23 · 02/09/2022 08:17

@ABitWooInnit nope I took 5 more thinking they were faulty and all were the same in the following days. I was soooo poorly with sever morning sickness they thought it was twins. But nope just one baby girl in there. They said sometimes hormones are higher with girls

Essexgalhere · 02/09/2022 09:32

@ABitWooInnit I had it with my twins that I lost at 9 weeks
I’ve stopped testing now though

Sorry for commenting on this thread so late just wondering how the outcome was as I’m extremely similar to yourself at this time?
