I’ve just had a growth scan at 34+4 and baby is estimated to weigh 5lbs 4oz. Bonus points if you’ve already had your baby and remember what they weighed at 34 weeks vs when they were born

35 weeks - 4lbs 12oz

Born 36+2 at 4lbs 15oz

thunderonlyhappenswhenits · 31/08/2022 19:01

I had one last week at 33 weeks and baby is estimating 5.7lbs

Cakecakecheese · 31/08/2022 19:34

About 4lb5. He was born at 37 weeks and weighed 6lb6

Hm2020 · 31/08/2022 19:35

Garman · 31/08/2022 19:36

Mine was born at 34+2 and was 6lbs 2ozs.

Erber · 04/09/2022 12:05

We were told 5lb 2oz, but she was born 8 days later at 5lb 1oz.

GlamGiraffe · 04/09/2022 12:07

Both born 35weeks if that helps.
One 5lb15oz
One 5lb2oz

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 04/09/2022 12:09

Born at 32 weeks and was 3lbs9

AliasGrape · 04/09/2022 12:09

I can’t remember exact weight but we were predicted a bit baby on 99th centile and at least 9lbs.It was (one of several) reasons they used to pressure me into accepting an induction.

She was born on her due date, 7lbs 1 so exactly on the 50th centile.

Loulou1712 · 04/09/2022 19:01

I had a scan last week at 34+2 and baby was estimated at 6lb 7oz!!
DD1 was 7lb 15oz 41+1 (I was told at 37 weeks she was 7lb on scan)
DD2 was 7lb 40 + 6 so ill be surprised if I'm actually crying a baby elephant 🐘 (although the thought of a giant baby is concerning!)
🤣🤣🤣

chocolatefrappe · 04/09/2022 19:50

At 35 weeks, 3 Ib exactly.

Isyesterdaytomorrowtoday · 04/09/2022 19:54

Apparently 6lbs
but was born 6 weeks later at just over 7lbs so seems unlikely

Isonthecase · 04/09/2022 19:58

5.5lbs apparently. I think it was probably about right, he was taking the same line at all the other scans and born weighing pretty much bang on what they said.

SomethingNastyInTheBallPool · 04/09/2022 20:11

Weighed 5 lbs 5 oz when she was born at 34 weeks.

chineapplepunks · 04/09/2022 20:16

Estimated weight at around 34 weeks was 6.11
Actual weight at birth 40weeks was 7.3

FlyingLemur · 04/09/2022 22:34

4lb 8oz at 34+1 (baby was born at 34 weeks).

Was estimated to be on 50th centile at scans, but birth weight was on the 25th.

Dyra · 04/09/2022 22:49

DC1
32 weeks - 4lb14 (I think. Growth scan)
36 weeks - 6lb15 (regular + growth scan)
37+1 - 7lb5 (birth)

DC2
36 weeks - 6lb12 (regular scan)
37+6 - 8lb1 (birth)

i realise this is totally not the point, but where do you all live that the baby is measured in pounds - US?! I’m an 80s child in the UK and have no idea what a pound looks like! I always had baby measurements given to me in kg?

stitchinguru · 04/09/2022 23:34

34 weeks - 6lb 7
born at 40 weeks - 8lb 5

UK and 20 years ago babies were in pounds .

annlee3817 · 05/09/2022 00:28

I had my growth scan at 35 weeks, was told she was 6lbs 4oz at that point. DD was born at 39+5 weighing 7lbs 9oz.

UnityO · 05/09/2022 01:47

Baby born at 35 weeks - weighed 8lb.

Dread to think how much he'd have weighed if he went to full term Confused

bubblepond · 05/09/2022 01:48

Estimated 5lbs9oz, she was born 3 weeks later weighing 5lbs9.5oz

SisterA · 05/09/2022 02:06

At 34 weeks was estimated 5lbs 5oz and was born at 39+2 just shy of 7lbs 8oz

I imagine all/most of us are UK based. Baby weights are officially recorded in kg, but people still like to know in pounds and ounces. There's usually a conversion chart attached to each baby weighing scale. Like DC1 was 3.315kg, and DC2 was 3.675kg, but it's actually kind of nicer to hear in lb and oz. It's about the only imperial measurement (other than pints for pub drinks) I think it's ok.
