Am I the only one that didn't know..??

I've just read, that apparently if you when you go for a wee, you rock back and forward whilst sitting on the loo, you apparently empty your bladder fully as the baby can't block it from emtpying properly, thus avoiding the need to go again 10 minutes later??

I did it last night, and went to the loo once in the night as opposed to five times!!!

I've actually had a decent night's sleep and feel like a new woman today!!

I'm 36 weeks with my second, I soooo wish I knew this before !!!!

So, in case there is anyone else out there spending most of their time working out where the nearest loo is, that also didn't know; I thought I would share!!

Thank you thank you!! I can't wait for bed tonight - the thought of getting up once only sounds fantastic (35 weeks).

Wow - I'd heard about leaning forward when on the loo to empty it fully, but not rocking

will give that a go tonight on first trip to the loo and hope it's the only one

Teehee. The hard bit is remembering to stop rocking after you've had your baby. Ds2 is 6 weeks now, and you know ...

But I tell you, being able to wee properly again is absolutely fantastic. I've had to restrain myself from talking to all my friends and relatives about how much I'm enjoying being able to have a huge wee without it taking forever .

I love MN.

I had heard this, I was also told that sitting on the toilet facing the other way is also a really good way to empty the bladder

I am 10weeks and I read in the birth book they give you in packs at doctors it tells you-if you rock back n forth it spills out bit more. I did it once and i was on the loo for about 20mins but then still felt as if I needed some more hehe

However if you sit on the bog for a long time rocking backwards and forwards you are more likely to get piles because of the pressure on your derriere!

I'll trade widdling thrice nightly for the demon grapes of the arse department thank you

you don't have to rock - just lean forward a bit when you think you've finished and you will find that you haven't.....

Someine told me that when I was about 8m preg with DS1 - great tip!

Fantastic tip! I have been feeling like I need to go five minutes after the last time - have been so demented I have been "talking" to my bladder. "You're not full yet" - hopefully this will put a stop to it!
