i am currently 36 weeks pregnant and had a recent scan which showed baby was in the 90th percentile it’s all a little confusing to me it is my second pregnancy and haven’t experienced this before .i have just been diagnosed with gestational diabetes and don’t have an appointment to talk about my options untill I am 37 weeks which I feel is a little bit late in the pregnancy , my main question has anyone been induced and at what point was they induced with gestational diabetes pregnancy ? I was induced with my previous pregnancy so I am open to that option .

I had GD and I was induced at 39 weeks as I was diet controlled, but normally they induce at 38 weeks if you are on insulin/meds at my trust.

Personally, I would also take the growth scans with a pinch of salt. At my 36 week scan, they measured the baby as 7lbs 3oz and predicted him to be 8lbs at 39 weeks. He entered the world at 7lbs 3oz and was very much average sized!

The GDUK Facebook group and website were amazing resources and kept me diet controlled from 26 weeks to birth. I don’t think I would have managed without either of them.

Hope everything goes well for you!

I had GD, was induced at 38 weeks and DS was only 6lb12.5oz so not massive at all and probably would've been a very average 7lb something if I'd gone full term!
