No more flutters?

Hello everyone!

So I'm 21 weeks tomorrow. For the last 2 weeks I've had really strong feelings of flutters... throughout the day here and there. Mostly in mornings and evenings. For the last 2 days or so it's gone really quiet in there 😂, barely get a flutter a day.

Is this ok/normal?!

Thank you

Baby has probably just changed position but please call your midwife who can get you in to make sure baby is okay.

Thank you! I read on an app that maaaybe baby's go quiet when they go through a growth spurt? I wasn't sure about asking my midwife as I've just had my 20 week scan at the start of the week and I'm one of those that feels like a nuisance for asking 🙈

The same happened to me. Very strong movement (but not kicks) in weeks 18 & 19 but then it suddenly stopped halfway through week 20. I had a scan which showed everything was fine and the change was probably just due to the baby moving into a different position.

So…don’t worry, but do get checked out as every pregnancy is different.

I got myself really panicked over this around the same time, baby had just moved back and was fine. Wouldn't worry till you start having a pattern in a few weeks

Honestly- a midwife would rather see you, listen to baby’s heartbeat and reassure you. You are not a nuisance! I know my midwife has told me loads of times if I am concerned she is always happy to have a listen and check on baby.

please go get checked- it will put your mind to rest and will take a few mins of their time.

Thank you so much everyone! You are all so kind. And I'm glad to hear similar stories 💖

If your worried I'd call the MW and get checked out.

Though one of my MW said if I hadn't felt movement of any kind for a while first thing to do was drink iced water to see if that woke them up a bit and it did seem to work though she also said I was not to hesitate to call if worried.

You should call your MW. It doesn't matter what stage in your pregnancy you are if you have felt movement then you feel less or none they want to check you over.

I've felt movement with these babies since about 14 weeks which is super early. DS I felt around 16 weeks. But at 18 weeks I wasn't feeling flutters anymore and they wanted me in to be seen. When the midwife tried the Doppler she could only find one heartbeat and got a doctor to come round to scan me straight away. Thankfully both babies were fine but they were hard to trace on the Doppler because of their gestational age.
