I can't even see the pot past my bump so no hope of aiming correctly. Have had to pee in a cup, transfer to sample pot and sterilise cup. Grrrrrrr

i used to pee in a spare washing powder scoop! My gran has to hand in urine samples regulary and is a big woman and she pees in my old potty from when i was a baby!

dillinger · 22/01/2008 12:12

I pee in a cherry jam jar

FAQ · 22/01/2008 12:16

they're so tiny because they're designed by a man.....of course

sweetkitty · 22/01/2008 12:24

I have a special pee jug (plastic from Asda about 50p) pee into jug then pour into little pot. Also used for multiple pregnancy tets!

Sarahjct · 22/01/2008 13:39

Lakeland do a nice line in little plastic beakers with palm trees on - just hoping DH has never used it as a tooth mug. I do try to bury it right at the back of the bathroom cupboard...

madmouse · 22/01/2008 14:10

I just use a jug. Urine is sterile when it comes out, so a good swill with washing up liquid and boiling water afterwards and all done. I am glad to be honest that the things are so small, as they usually have to be transported in handbags etc.

PurlyQueen · 22/01/2008 18:42

i just pee standing up - it's easier to aim in the pot then.

daisy26 · 22/01/2008 19:16

I find it hard to-so i pee in a container i use and then put it into the bottle-i can't get use to peein in that as i know ill prob miss

One great thing about Austria is they give you a plastic cup like you get from a water machine, with a lid on, for urine samples - a much better idea.

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 22/01/2008 20:30

I am enjoying home visits (again) and my midwife gives me a multi-coloured stick to wee on. Most convenient.

midnightexpress · 22/01/2008 20:35

I nicked some of the carboard things they give you in the ante-natal unit loos - just put a few in my bag when I was visiting for 12 week scan.

whomovedmychocolate · 22/01/2008 20:46

I use the detachable plastic tray from the top and tail bowl as to 'catch'.

At my hospital if you forget yours they take a paper cup from the water dispenser

deaconblue · 23/01/2008 10:11

LOL midnightexpress, how big is your handbag to fit a few of those things in??? do you carry a MAry Poppins style bag?

  • I can't remember, (I was pregnant!). But I can't remember the last time I went out without about 2 tonnes of kit so probably, yes. I was just so annoyed that they reduced the size of the pot from a wide mouthed thing to a test tube. WTF???
babylove21 · 23/01/2008 15:41

i have been given just the paper strip to pee on too - not that easy if you don't feel like going and by the time you have moved the strip to the stream of urine its now a drip or trickle if your really lucky
