Accidentally used anthisan in pregnancy

I am on holiday (in the middle of no where) and was bitten by a tick on my leg. I managed to get it off and in fear of Lyme disease I treated the bite as I usually would; washed it and applied anthisan. Then merrily got on with my day. The problem is that I am 20 weeks pregnant… I have googled it and have discovered that anthisan is not recommended for use in pregnancy. The drug information website used by the NHS states that it has not been studied but says that years of use show no complications. However, it still says not to use it.
although I only applied a small amount once I am really worried about my baby. can anyone shed some light or any reassurance?
thanks

This is my first pregnancy and to say I am nervous of causing damage to my baby is an understatement.

A bit of antihistamine cream put on your leg is not going to harm your baby

Very few medicines are recommended for use in pregnancy. It's unethical to test medicines on pregnant women, that's all. Your baby will be fine

Lyme disease will be far more worrisone generally but anthisan wont prevent it anyway
Follow up when you get home
Soeak to gp if you've been bitten by a tick and you:

develop a rash
have flu-like symptoms
Remember to tell them you've been bitten by a tick.
Bit if anthisan wont harm your baby

Thank you, I will keep an eye on it and will mention it to my GP.
I only applied the anthisan on auto pilot as the bit is hot and itchy.
i need to remember to stop and think!

Your baby is fine OP.

The stress of worrying about it is probably worse than the cream! Go watch some comedy standup on youtube to get some
happy hormones flowing.
