Hi, I hope everyone is well. I suppose im really just looking for a bit of support. Im 3 weeks away from giving birth (planned c section due to complications from first baby) and have tested positive for covid today. I feel absolutely rough - temperature (not like critical but not nice), headache, achy, fidgety, snotty, super bad heartburn, exhausted etc. Some of the symptoms I already had as general pregnancy symptoms but they’re worse now. The hospital have given me blood thinning injections to do at home to lessen risk of blood clots and my husband gave me the first one this evening and it hurt like hell. I feel really rough and sad and worried and now sore too. And am thinking these injections will continue post birth too and so am now also scared of that. Anyone who has been through similar generally and has some tips or support, I’d be so grateful. Thank you

I’ve not had covid whilst I was pregnant but didn’t want to read and run. You poor thing- sounds awful! Keep doing what the doctors / midwives advise plus lots of fluids etc. paracetamol should help too.
I did have those injections after my first baby though and you’re right- they hurt like hell! I had a 3 day labour and an EMCS and I swear they are worse. Check with doctors but I tried different parts of my body for the injections to find a place which was less sore. Hope you feel better soon :)

Hi OP, I had it at around 25 weeks and am almost 39 weeks now. I’m really sorry you’re going through it at this stage. I would echo what the above poster has said, all I did was rest rest rest, have lots of fluids, and take paracetamol when needed. I know everyone’s experience is different but I only really felt horrible in the build up to testing positive and for 2-3 days after it. The worst day was definitely the day I tested positive. Within about a week I was still tired but much better, and taste/smell came back quickly too. Rest as much as you can and hope you feel better very soon ❤️💐
