Bounty Reps

Does anyone know if Bounty reps are still doing the rounds on maternity wards? I read a while back they'd gotten into financial trouble during lockdown so I'm hoping they've gone now but I'm not sure. I'm actually stressed about this as I go into hospital in ten days to have my second child and during my first maternity stay they actually woke me up (after two days of zero sleep) to try and sell me stuff. Unbelievable these parasites are allowed on wards to hassle vulnerable women.

The website says they are staying away to protect the NHS, but then there is a box to put your post code in as it does say at over 150 maternity units. Fingers crossed it’s no where near your one!

There weren't any around when I had DC2 back in March.

Oooo. That's interesting. The hospital I gave birth at is on that list.

There weren't any when I have birth last August. I did get given one of their packs by a midwife though as I was leaving.

Thanks for this, it's definitely put my mind at rest a bit as it looks like they're not currently in any hospitals in Scotland (I'm Glasgow). I'm still angry about last time!

Our trust has been asking for feedback about whether to allow them in again or not. I was delighted not to have to deal with them during lockdown.

I was glad they weren't there when I had DD2 last august. We felt pressured to buy the most expensive package with DD1 and DP hated the picture of all 3 of us

I hope they never come back onto wards. I think they’ve lost their niche now given that we can all take decent quality photos with phones.

Thanks everyone. Sounds like no-one wants them there (except maybe whoever in the NHS is being paid by Bounty to let them have free run). I remember before my first baby was born, reading people's stories about them and thinking surely they were exaggerating, then I experienced it for myself and the stories were all true. Utterly shocking that this is allowed!
