Hi. In a painful conundrum. 😥

I'm 7+1 and last Monday so about 12 days ago I started having ear pain in my left ear after swimming. I went to doctor on Wednesday and he said I had an infection in both ears and prescribed me amoxicillin which I took for seven days. The pain in my left ear cleared up quickly. However, yesterday so a day after stopping the antibiotics my right ear started hurting. I used some ear calm spray which made it worse. I saw the doctor again, he said it's inflamed but prob not infected, use otex. I've used otex twice since, seemed to help some wax come out and it's not as painful as if was but it doesn't feel right still. I went to an ear clearing clinic thinking maybe wax buildup irritating it, but he had a look and said he thinks it's infected. So now I'm going back to the doctors although no doctors available today so I'm seeing the nurse prescriber. 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️ The guy today said he thinks it could be a fungal infection not bacterial in this right ear.

For anyone that has similar, did you try ear drops?? Which ones worked / are safe? I've done some research and seems loads of the usual antibacterial or fungal or anti inflammatory sprays aren't considered safe in pregnancy. I feel at a loss. I don't want to take another course of oral antibiotics esp if it's a fungal infection as they won't do a thing and could make it worse, as antibiotics promote the growth of fungi! But it seems the sprays aren't safe?! Should I just see if it clears up on its own? Or are some of the sprays ok?

Any advice appreciated. Thank you.
