Hook effect or chemical?

Hey guys, so I had a positive at 4.5 weeks, followed by a stronger positive at 5 weeks, followed by a barely there line today at 5.6 weeks. I also had several positive digitals between 4.5 and 5.

Today's barely there test was done at about 1:30am when I woke up for for a wee (I thought it was already morning!) .

All my symptoms have been strong this week (nausea, metal taste, lots of weeing, feeling hormonal) and are still very much present.

Has anyone had similar experiences?

Oh, I also had a bit of bleeding from 4.4 to 4.6 but it wasn't heavy.

The first test is a FRER but the other two tests aren't. They could possibly be FR Rapid Result tests which will give different line readings.

Can you get another FRER and test 2 days after the first? You should then see a darker second line.

You're right, the later two are rapid result. My main concern is that there was a decent line on Saturday, and today it's barely there

I always found the rapid result tests very hit & miss with line progression. The FRER done with FMU will be a much better indicator. I really hope you get a nice solid second line with your next test 🤞🏼

It’s too early for a hook effect, especially since your lines didn’t get darker, sorry!! Keep testing and see if they darken again on the different brand of test.

Line did get darker between #1 and #2?

The internet says Hook effect can be from after week five.

Just looked again and there is definitely a line, it's just very very faint, fainter than the one on the early detection one. I only did the test coz I had one left over so thought it'd be nice to see a darker line 😂 I've been feeling so pregnant I hadn't even considered there might be a confusing result.

Hey guys hope you don't mind I was looking for some advice as I feel like I'm going out my mind, I got BFP 20th faint line, 24th strong line, I've had very heavy bleed from 25th so retested today and line is still just as strong. Fearing the worst thinking chemical I know miracles do happen any chance my little embryo is hanging on?

Hi everyone, just to update, I started bleeding a few days after I got the faint line and sadly the pregnancy ended. We have just started trying again, and I have also been seeing an acupuncturist to rebalance.
