Worried my positive tests aren’t dark enough!! :(

I’m 5 days late on my period and found out yesterday I was pregnant with a clearblue digital which said 1-2 weeks (last period started 22 July). That already worried me as I thought should be showing 2-3 weeks as technically im 4 weeks and 5 days.
Did a normal clearblue this morning (attached) and I think the positive should be stronger.
Can everyone let me know what they think please?

I’m pretty sure the darkness doesn’t matter as long as the line exists.

Jen0019 · 26/08/2022 08:00

@BeeVeeF thanks for replying, wasn’t sure whether it’s a sign my HCG isn’t rising

With my 8month old I was testing daily for weeks because my ex husband had the snip behind my back and convinced me I was infertile and I was in disbelief I was pregnant with my new partner and also because I had a bleed around 5 weeks. I know it's stupid to test so much and a massive waste of money. But I needed to do what I could to reassure myself. Some tests were fainter some mornings than others, I don't think there is really any significance to the darkness of the line. You could always try a FR in a couple days and see if it's better on that.

Of my three pregnancies, the one with the faint +ve was the one I miscarried.

Sorry OP, I know that's not what you want to hear Flowers

Jen0019 · 26/08/2022 08:51

@MrsOwainGlyndŵr Thanks, I know it’s my thoughts as well that it’s the way it’s going to go. I’ve had two children, the last one being a stillbirth last year at 35 weeks, but both times by now I had blazing positives.

Just done a FRER (obsessed I know) and this is how it comes up with my second urine.

I honestly don't think how faint the line is matters. I had a few that were very weak I did the pound strips 3 of them and did a clear blue. I'm now 37 weeks. I wouldn't read into it.

cloudydays2 · 26/08/2022 09:39

I tested 5 days after my period was due and my line was a squinter ! Currently 35 weeks now. I wouldn't worry too much as that first response test looks great !

Jen0019 · 26/08/2022 11:15

Thanks everyone. Just so hard not to worry after everything last year, and it’s taken a year for us to get pregnant as well. Just really hope it keeps progressing 🤞🏻

That last pic isnt faint at all. Congratulations.

Jen0019 · 26/08/2022 12:25

@Brokenandstressed i know, the clearblue this morning really threw me off. It was just quite faint for a first morning urine test and got me worried.

Steer clear of clearblue. They’re honestly terrible. Use FMU for the next few days and stick to frers. Congratulations, your lines look fine to me!!

TokenGinger · 26/08/2022 14:48

I didn't test until I was 2 weeks late as my periods were so erratic and I was so fed up of negative tests, only to come on a few days later. So this test is when I was already around 5-6 weeks and still so pale. Mine never got darker but I'm currently 19 weeks and all going well so far. Xx

Can't you just do one of the ones that says PREGNANT or NOT PREGNANT? No worrying about it then...

@TokenGinger your test isn't faint in any way. The test line is so much darker than the control line. This is what we call a dye stealer! You mixed up your lines.

strawberry2017 · 26/08/2022 15:02

They are both positive, you can see nice strong lines on both.
Try and relax about the tests and try not to over think things.
Congratulations!

Greeneyegirl · 26/08/2022 15:11

@TokenGinger yours is as dark as it can physically get, you've stolen the dye from the control line! Youre looking at the wrong line.

OP, I'd think it was odd although not necessarily a bad thing. Could you have ovulated slightly later or even twice in a month without realising? I tested the day of my missed period at got 2 - 3 weeks and a very dark clear blue and that was an evening urine test. I recon you might have had a random late ovulation.

Jen0019 · 26/08/2022 16:02

@Greeneyegirl yeh that’s the only thing I can think of basically that would cause me to be 1-2 weeks. I actually had stopped doing ovulation tests because I never reached peak, but then we did have sex a few days after this and I wonder if maybe ovulated around then instead 🤷🏻‍♀️
Just finding it hard with it being the first time pregnant after a year and after a stillbirth

TokenGinger · 26/08/2022 20:55

No way! I thought the line on the right was the test line, not the control line! Okay, I take that back. Mine definitely was not faint at all!

Charl881 · 26/08/2022 21:47

@Jen0019 I didn’t get a positive until I was technically 4 weeks 3 days pregnant this time around. It didn’t worry me because I knew that I hadn’t ovulated until day 20 of my cycle so that was still only 10dpo that I got my positive. In the past however I’ve not had a faint positive until 13/14 dpo and that’s always been a sign of an unsuccessful pregnancy for me. Sorry I know that doesn’t really help but I guess I’m just saying that id you don’t know when you ovulated then it’s impossible to tell whether it’s faint or not for your length of gestation. What matters is that there is a line and you are pregnant! Hopefully in a couple of days it will be stronger. Sorry about your stillbirth last year and good luck with this pregnancy.

Jen0019 · 27/08/2022 10:54

@Charl881 thanks, that is helpful. I have PCO which is a reason why I think I might have ovulated late (potentially day 20/21). I’d stopped doing opks by day 18 as I hadn’t reached peak so gave up. So that could be a reason.
Anyway, I’m just going to see. For now I’m pregnant and I feel fine (no pain or bleeding) so just have to see what happens I guess! It’s more the CB digitals that have thrown me!
