Hi, I am in a panic after Googling this!

I am 8 weeks pregnant with terrible constipation and not matter how much fibre I eat nothing is working. I just need one really good Poo! I can’t do anything as my stomach is bloated and I’m pain.

So I have just taken one Dulcolax (Bisacodyl 5 mg) table. Will it harm my baby???

please help, I don’t want to harm my baby!

Its not advised. Maybe have a phone appointment with the GP for some reassurance, if you’ve only taken one dose it may be ok.

Fybogel can be taken daily in pregnancy and works well to keep things moving so you don’t get constipated again.

It’ll be absolutely fine OP. Long experience has shown no evidence of undesirable or damaging effects during pregnancy.

But to help with the constipation get some lactulose from the pharmacy and take that instead, can take a few days to work but completely safe in pregnancy.
