Working out my EDD

I really don't understand how you work estimated due date and adding two weeks is confusing me, please can somebody explain 😀
Some websites allow you chose conception day as a way of working it out which I believe I know but if I go back two weeks from this date it's before I had my last period so surely can't be right!
The first day of my last period was 22nd July, I believe I ovulated on the 3rd or 4th of Aug because I had EWCM on the 2nd and we DTD on the 2nd. I started with sore nipples on the 16th and took two pregnancy tests (both positive and the FRER was a dye stealer) on the 21st.
The app I have says 5 weeks 1 day, is that possible? I know it's only estimated and no way of knowing for sure but I'm just excited by it all!

I usually go from the day of my late period. That will give you a rough EDD. Then your scan will give you a more accurate date! X

Yes as mummaB said before your 12 week scan you go off your last period and then they measure and date you then.

I ovulated on cycle day 10 so I had my scan at what was 12 weeks and 3 days based on my cycle but at the 12 week scan I was changed to 13 weeks which is what I expected from my earlier ovulation based on a 28 day cycle with ovulation on day 14
