High sugar - urine

Hi all,

Had my first consultant appointment today (only booked because of my previous baby being small against their chart for him being born at 41).
Needed a urine sample beforehand - had a rush around morning at work so had my cereal breakfast then not chance to eat or drink anything until I got back in the house.
Had diluted juice (all I’m drinking as water is making me feel really sick unless it’s ice cold) and my shameful face - don’t make a habit of this, honest Chinese leftovers, then did the sample not long after.
Apparently there was high sugar in it so now they want me to do a glucose test. Consultant said it could have been because of my food but they want to check.
The receptionist when I handed in my paperwork from the consultant to book my appointments laughed at my quite judgementally and said I had a ‘season ticket’ which I didn’t appreciate when I was already feeling worried about what this could mean.
Has anyone had this and it turned out to be okay? Or anything I can do in the meantime?
Thank you

No experience with the sugar but I also had the comment of ‘I think we’ll see you a lot around here’ following high BP at my 12 week consultant appt. Panicked me a bit too. I’m now 21 weeks and only been back for my scan and routine consultant appt which I’d have had anyway due to being ‘high risk’ due to 2 x previous sections, being over 35 and slightly raised BMI. So try to brush it off or see it as at least you will be monitored more closely and have extra appts/scans which I think is always a good thing in the end.
good luck
