Favourite shops to buy baby clothes

Where are your favourite places to buy baby clothes? First time around I liked the quality and styles available at H&M, Next and Tu clothing, just wondering if I'm missing out on some gems elsewhere!

Baby 1 was a summer baby and born on the hottest day of the year and baby 2 is going to be a winter baby so need to stock up on some warmer baby clothes ASAP 😀

Love tesco clothes, but they do run small!

Eileen101 · 24/08/2022 06:54

Frugi, kite, JoJo maman Bebe, tu, George for basics, nutmeg.

TheBatwoman · 24/08/2022 06:55

Some of the most complimented outfits we’ve had for our twins outfits have been from Tesco’s F&F. They run a little small, but they have some really quite lovely outfits.

We’ve also had some lovely bits from John Lewis, Tu and Jojo Maman Bebe.

Merryclaire · 24/08/2022 07:02

Jojo Mama Bebe if you can afford it. And Nutmeg at Morrison’s are surprisingly good budget choice.

I really like Tesco clothes for babies.

londongirl12 · 24/08/2022 07:38

It'll all depend on budget. My DS wore mainly primark, Asda, baby gap outlet. They fit them for all of 5 mins so I wouldn't spend a fortune if you don't need to. Even primark quality is pretty good these days.

Although I recently discovered Shein. Not bought baby clothes but young boy stuff is lovely!

Charity shops. Get to know the good ones in your area, and you’ll be well rewarded.

I buy most of my 10 month olds clothes on Vinted now. I'm a bit addicted Grin I've bought loads on there and everything's been in brilliant condition, a lot that hasn't even been worn and it's all very cheap too, I've saved a fortune. Definitely worth a look for how long they stay in the clothes. A friend mentioned it to me one day and I've rarely bought him clothes brand new from a shop since.

Brand wise though I like next, H&M, M&S and TU the best for him.

I only buy second hand, and like frugi, little bird designs, marramora and some jojo

We were thankfully given a lot by friends whose children have grown out of it but I know people too have got bundles from marketplace

I really like Lindex! Their wrap front vests are much easier to put on a wriggly baby, lovely styles and colours, and the fabrics feel nice. Sizing is also more transparent being European length sizes rather than arbitrary months sizes where your 2mo might fit 0-3 in one brand but 3-6 in another and 1-2 in another.

If anyone happens to live anywhere in or near South Wales, there is a Jojo Maman Bebe outlet in Newport where their HQ is. They also have quite good sales and discounts online. I usually wait until they have sales or offers, and sometimes even buy bigger sizes for my twins to grow into. I rarely buy their stuff full price, especially buying for two as it is quite expensive. It’s always been lovely quality though.

I have a little boy but try not to buy too much of the highly patterned bright blue dinosaur outfits. Next I love but they do seem to only be able to think of that as a pattern for boys. Matalan has some quite good stuff! Sainsbury’s, Asda and Tesco have also been good. My favourite is H&M by far! So much choice and more ‘trendy’ clothes than the others. Found a few nice things in primark. For super soft newborn things polern o’pyret (I think it’s called) is lovely, ridiculously soft!

Goodnewsday · 24/08/2022 11:07

M&S is nice and not so much the traditional blue dinosaur theme but I’ve noticed some of their patterns are a bit weird.. it’s like they’re trying to make it gender neutral but it’s almost too girly looking for a boy to wear but girls probably wouldn’t wear it either 🤔 every time I go in I end up walking back out with nothing because I can’t decide if it looks like it’s meant to be for girls or not

UrethraFranklin90 · 24/08/2022 11:10

Get on vinted! Frugi is my favourite, but it's pricey new!

hayleytiley · 06/06/2023 16:17

If you live near Ripley there's a fabulous children's clothes shop called Kathleen's. On FB she's called Kathryn Edwards.
Or another one is Sienna's boutique on FB.
