First trimester absolute exhaustion

I'm 8 weeks pregnant and this absolute exhaustion and fatigue is really getting me down. I have a 21 month old so relaxing isn't really possible and my husband works 6 days a week (he does his part in the evenings which is great).

It's just constant sickness, headaches and zero energy! I know it'll pass soon I guess I just needed to rant Sad

It's horrible isn't it. Especially with a toddler to look after.

I went to the GP and got Cyclizine for the nausea, which really helped my overall mood.

Mine has come and gone in waves. Floored by it today. Have barely done any work. Feel like i need to tell my boss but dont want to yet. Sympathies.

I used to fall asleep in my car on the drive after work. Blush

It’s so hard at that stage, I’m sure I read when I was pregnant that it peaks at 9 weeks so by then you’re over the worst of it (hopefully). I remember still not feeling great as I got nearer to my 12 week scan then all of a sudden being fine one day!

Bluesky2507 · 22/08/2022 20:23

I had three naps in one day once in my first trimester. I'd never been so exhausted! But I didn't have other kids so I could just lie on the sofa all day! I would also get tired from just walking up stairs or taking the bins out.

The2Omicronnies · 22/08/2022 20:24

It’s absolutely savage. I hope it passes for you soon and you feel much more energised from the second trimester onwards.

SpicyJalfrezi · 22/08/2022 20:26

I was doing one day at work at this point due to lockdown and I used to COLLAPSE at the end of the day! Flowers

Currently TTC and while I of course want to be pregnant I am dreading combining that exhaustion with a toddler!

It’s awful isn’t it? Especially with your second. With my first I was able to come home and rest but my husband works shifts so I feel your pain about still having to do everything. I’m 11 weeks now so touch wood, over the worst.

It just really annoys me how we feel so awful for so long and we just have to shut up and act completely normal and can’t/don’t want to tell people. And people comment on everything! Again I didn’t have it with my first because I guess people weren’t expecting it, but people at work comment on everything I eat (because it might be random because it’s all I can stomach) that I’m not having tea/coffee anymore (can’t stand it pregnant) JUST LEAVE ME ALONE. I know when I announce it they’ll all be like ooohh I knew! Yes well I wish you’d kept it to yourself instead of making me deflect the question because god forbid I outright lie and jinx anything!

wow I guess I needed a rant too 😂

I'll be 12 weeks on Wednesday. I'm currently sat on sofa crying whilst eating a piece of toast. I know I felt bad with my first but not this bad.
Today has been so hard and I can't even say why. I'm tired, I'm sick, I hurt.
Finding it very hard to deal right now

Thank you all for your replies. Definitely made me feel a hell of a lot better, and a lot less pathetic!

Sympathising with you all going through it too Biscuit
