Hello all, so i tried to not post in the pregnancy part of the forum because im worried about jinxing anything too early but needed a bit of advice!

I got my BFP at 9DPO, 10DPO tested with clearblue digital and expected nothing but got 1-2 weeks pregnant.
On the day AF was due which was Wednesday just gone i tested again and got 2-3 weeks pregnant, was 14DPO on this day.
I tested with a digital again today and got 3+ weeks pregnant, im 19DPO and should be 4 weeks 2 days pregnant according to my last AF which was 24th July 2022.

I used ovulation tests and can’t remember the exact date i ovulated but think it was around CD10/11… this is my first time and first baby and im super confused by it all, i have read 3+ weeks shouldn’t come up until pregnancy week 5..
Just to add that twins are very strong on mums side of the family, could this potentially be an indication?

Any advice or general help would be amazing 😅

have you taken into account adding the two weeks?
”It can be confusing during the first month because pregnancy (which is an average of 40 weeks long) is actually measured from the first day of your last menstrual period. Even though you likely ovulated and conceived only two weeks ago, technically, you're considered to be four weeks along.”

Your weeks of pregnancy are dated from the first day of your last period. This means that in the first 2 weeks or so, you are not actually pregnant – your body is preparing for ovulation (releasing an egg from one of your ovaries) as usual. Your "getting pregnant" timeline is: day 1: the first day of your period.

Congratulations btw. 🎉

@Whatwherehowwhenwho hello and thank you 🙂 i have indeed, AF would have only finished for me yesterday and using the NHS last period check it puts me as 4 weeks and 2 days from my last period, which is why the 3+ weeks clearblue confused me haha!

Hi. Just tested now on clearblue test and it says I'm 3+ but I am 2 week what does it mean? I am 18dpo

PickledScrump · 12/08/2023 07:48

@00059g your not 2 weeks. Your pregnancy is dated from your last period, which is around 2 weeks on from conception. So 3 weeks on the clearblue is around 5 week’s pregnant, 18/19dpo is also around 5 weeks pregnant. When was your last period?

00059g · 12/08/2023 11:29

My last period was 11 July. Actually my 3 weeks ended yesterday but the test said 3+

Biscuitsandgravyforyou · 12/08/2023 11:33

There such a wide range of acceptable HCG levels in early pregnancy I wouldn’t read too much into it

00059g · 12/08/2023 12:57

That's what I thought, because it is causing a war with my husband

TheShellBeach · 12/08/2023 13:00

The OP should have had her baby in April!

You're actually 4 weeks and 4 days pregnant.
You date it from LMP.

TheShellBeach · 12/08/2023 13:03

The test works out your pregnancy from the date of ovulation. You have to add another two weeks to get the correct dating.
And yes, I know this is a Zombie.

LauraA31 · 12/08/2023 14:10

Hello!

I did have my baby in April 🙂

I wouldn’t worry too much about the weeks indicator, i spent far too much on these tests and sometimes the weeks would drop!

I got a consistent 3+ weeks after when i was around 6 weeks ish!

Congratulations, OP!

Gardenlady543 · 12/08/2023 14:35

Isn't 3+ the highest it goes though. And the CB weeks indicator is weeks from conception not pregnancy weeks. All these should be used for is seeing if they are going up, nothing is better than blood hcg though at this point.

LauraA31 · 12/08/2023 14:40

@Gardenlady543 yeah 3+ weeks is the highest it goes, mine went from 3+ back to 2-3 and up to 3+ again a few times 🙂

@TheShellBeach thank you! X
