Hi ladies

has anyone had similar? Had stitches out 4 days ago and the wound has developed a lump of what I can only explain as a yellow / white area inside of it. Doesn’t really hurt I have a random little ache every now and then but it’s more alarming to see as it wasn’t like that before. It’s like puss inside the wound but not leaking out.

I first spoke to 111 at 11am who got a nurse to call me back around 1.40 and she told me she’s passed my call on to the out of hours doctors team who will be in touch in 2 hours (she wasn’t a prescribing nurse so couldn’t help)

I called back an hour ago and they said they are very busy and my call is still logged on there and they will send a message through to the doctors team again as a reminder.

I have health anxiety anyway but I’m really worried this could get bad over night. I don’t want to go to A&E unless absolutely necessary as I don’t want to pick anything up being pregnant and my partner is clinically extremely vulnerable due to being on immunosuppressants.

just stressed and worried right now 😔

Is the area hot to touch? An area of redness spreading? Oozing? Do you have a temperature or feel unwell?

Maybe if you post a picture someone could have a look and put your m8nd at rest?

Sometimes would heal from the inside up and look a bit weird yellows inside which they do it. If it's not oozing, and the surrounding area isn't red or inflamed, you feel well no temperature then it's probably nothing too problematic. Try not to worry too much, get it looked at by the gp x

Sounds like it could just be slough, which is a by product of healing and not an infection (Google it for pics). If it’s not painful, oozing, red/angry/spreading redness and you don’t have any systemic symptoms (feeling unwell/fever) then, if it were me, I wouldn’t be overly worried. Good to get it checked but don’t let it kick off any health anxiety.
