Hi Babyellsbells

Thats fantastic news. Hope that the rest of your pregnancy is very uneventful xx

duvetheaven · 25/01/2008 20:02

Congrats 'BabyEllsBells'. After 2 mc, ( one mmc) had a scan at 6 +2 and totally overwhelmed to see heartbeat. 7+3 at the moment and a week to wait for next scan. I have been having morning sickness but instead of being thankful whenever it eases, I worry instead, is everything OK?
Worry, worry , worry.....

BabyEllsBells · 25/01/2008 22:08

duvetheaven im so sorry you had to go through that. i totally no what ur going through! the only thing i can say to do to help you ease that worry is keep looking at that scan. does it feel different from previous pregnancy?

Glad its going well babyellsbells

I'm glad I read this thread. I have been very worried because my choose and book info was left sat at my doctors since 17th Dec and noone told me, it was there or that I had to refer my self. I have only now this week been referred to the hospital.
But I'm hopeful for an appointment (and then scan!) soon.
I'm 12 weeks now so bloody hope so.

Am so worried have been crying over it all.

Has anyone else had similar problems?

BabyEllsBells · 26/01/2008 11:55

what! thats madness!
i cant say i have had a similar experience but i had a MMC on oct 4th and about 2 weeks later i got my info through about my 1st scan! i didnt really mind as cross wires and stuff but it came from the same ward that they had told me i had had the MMC!

That must have been really upsetting though, getting that scan info through when you were just coming to terms with things.

Cross wires seems to be the order of the day. I had an appointment at my doctors when that choose and book stuff had been sat waiting for me at reception for 2 weeks, and they didnt even give it me then either.

Best of luck for the rest of your pregnancy xxx

duvetheaven · 26/01/2008 18:30

Hi BabyEllsBells
Thanks for your good wishes.
This pregnancy definitely feels different due to the increased level of morning sickness! Have had some rough days!
But now I am feeling slightly better though nauseous still and anxious to get to the 8 week scan.
( My mmc was at 10 weeks late in 2006 and the next mc was May 2007 - the knock on effect kind off took the rug from under my feet)
Here's hoping for us all

kel78 · 29/01/2008 17:05

Hi i too have had 3 miscarriages but also have 2 healthy children, I am now pregnant again about 7 weeks and having an early scan on thurs. I had an early scan before at 6 weeks and everything was ok but when I went for 12 week scan the baby had died at approx 10.5 weeks. Did not know about reassurance scans but will deff ask now thanks.

stephshaw · 30/01/2008 14:47

HI,same sought of thing happened to me, i was pg and went for an early scan at 6 weeks and 6 days, everything was fine, then went for my 12.5 or 6 day scan and was told the baby had died and was jus the sac left, they said the sac was only the size of 10 and half weeks too.still i didnt no still all the pg symptoms ie sore boobs mornin and nite sickness.cravens. so 2 days later i had to go have a dc but they inserted a peserie to start it off.so so painfull wudnt wish it on any body. then they were too busy to do dc so had a scan nxt day to c if all had come out of me, but was still some left so finally after about 3 days had a dc.since then i have had a lil boy who has jus turnt 2.i was so scared goin for my scan with him. now i have fount out i am pg again, went for a scan last thurs 24jan and they said i was only 5weeks 1day but i am sure i should have been 6 weeks 2days,all they c was the gest sac,no heartbeat ,fetal pole or yolk sac,it was measuring 10mm which is rite for 5weeks. so they have re booked me to go bk on the 7 feb,but i cant wait that long so have bought it forward to mon 4th feb so by there dates i will be 6 weeks 5 days but by mine 7wekks 6 days. so hopefully we can c a heartbeat. but am really scared.

kel78 · 30/01/2008 21:38

Its a really worrying time because I feel like im waiting for something to go wrong all the time. I had 1 miscarrage 12 years ago I now have a 8 year old and a 3 year old but have had 2 further miscarriages in the last two years. Every time I dont feel so sick or my boobs are not sore You start to worry. Tomorrow I have my scan so will find out if baby is ok or not. I hope all will be ok with you too

stephshaw · 31/01/2008 08:50

keep us posted kel after ya scan , im sure eveerything b ok

kel78 · 31/01/2008 14:36

Had scan and everything ok, measures about 7 weeks saw heartbeat but everything is so small it is really hard to tell. They found a cyst on my left ovary which might be why I have been having pain there. They said they will scan me every two weeks so they can keep an eye on it all. I am so relieved.

nh101andhertwinbeans · 31/01/2008 15:45

That's great news. Good luck. After HB is seen there is a 95% chance of the pregnancy being successful. (Although I saw HB at 10wks with my first PG and still had MMC at 10+4 )

There is no such thing as tempting fate. If you feel happy to buy some stuff then do it! FWIW with my first PG I always felt a sense of doom, that it wasn't going to work out. But with this PG I always felt things would be OK (although the first trimester was still a worrying time). My instincts just said everything would be fine. I am now 23 weeks PG.

kel78 · 31/01/2008 18:12

Thanks, there's lovely your having twins. Lots of hard work but deff worth it.

stephshaw · 03/02/2008 09:17

kel78 · 03/02/2008 17:00

By my dates I should have been 7 +4 but they told me 6+6, still gonna use mine though cos they said until about 10 weeks they are unable to give deff dating cos baby so little. So your dates will be closer probably. They also have put me on a real low dose asprin which u can only get through them as this helps if uve had lots of miscarrages. It thins blood as some people suffer with sticky blood and apparently this can lead to some miscarriages. I was abit unsure of this but have since looked it up and it seems fine. Wouls only do it if they advise you though as aprin can be very dangerous during pregnancy. Good luck let us know how u get on. They r going to scan me every 2 weeks so thats good news.

wishuponastar · 04/02/2008 16:07

hi everyone

After reading all your stories i thought i would share mine with you. I had a mc last july and only found out on my dating scan which was horrfic apparently i had a blighted ovaum mc which is where the baby has been destroyed by the body but the sac is still present and in my case was still growing.
Anyway some happy news i am now 9+3wks pregnant and had a positive scan at the EPAU 2weeks ago and they detected a strong heart beat, it was so lovely to see the baby coz of my last scan. I have to wait till feb 25th till my next scan and its the longest wait of my life. As i was not sure when i misscarried the last time i don't know when it may happen again. I have heard that after a positive scan it is rare of the baby dying but does anyway know any real facts. I still feel very pregnant i am always tired and just started to feel a bit dizzy if i stand up to quick or move my head suddenley. Any advice welcome xxx

kel78 · 04/02/2008 16:22

On both of my daughters I had very strong morning sickness, sore boobs, dizziness etc. But on the 3 miscarrages I would never have really known I was pregnant so I think that the more pregnant you feel then that is a good sign. At the moment im 7 weeks 6 days approx and have some feeling of sickness and some sore boobs but I deff got headaches so im just hoping. If u ask the epu they will scan u sooner, the unit by me are lovely and are scaning me every 2 weeks until about 14 weeks. On my last miscarrage I saw baby and heartbeat at approx 7 weeks but when i went for dating scan the baby was still there but there was no heartbeat. They said it had stopped growing at about 10 weeks but I did not bleed till 12 weeks. I would say if u have seen heartbeat now at 9.5 I think that is really good and u are feeling very pregnant then that is also a good sign. Try to relax and just rest xx

wishuponastar · 04/02/2008 16:29

so you think i should contact the EPAU and try and get a earlier scan will they do that just to reassure me or shall i wait another 3wks till my dating scan..

Lcy · 04/02/2008 16:33

Wishuponastar

I was in your position earlier this year. EPU scanned me at 6 weeks and saw a heart beat so were happy for me to wait until 12 week scan. However, as my mc happened after seeing a healthy heart beat at 6 weeks i arranged to go for a private scan at 8 weeks and at 10 weeks - obsessive i know but it kept me same. All was fine and i am now 13 weeks but i really understand your worry!

Lcy · 04/02/2008 16:34

sane not same

Squiffy · 04/02/2008 16:49

I had 7 mc's before my two DC's were born and know how horrible it is for people being pregnant after an MC - with my DS I was at the EPU more or less every week for a 'quick check' in the first few weeks. Fortunately they were the kindest nurses you could hope for (they knew my history) so I had great care.

Anyway - reason for post - for those of you who are lucky enough to get through the initial stages but who worry constantly, I would VERY STRONGLY recommend you go buy a foetal monitor/doppler. They cost about £80 and you can use them from about 14 weeks onwards and you can sell them on ebay afterwards. I used mine every night and it saved me an awful lot of stress.
