Does it have to be FRESH wee?

I'm a wally and turned up for my midwife appointment 24 hours early .

Now I'm wondering, can I take this morning's pot of wee tomorrow? Or do I have to take fresh wee? I don't have a spare pot.

Fresh wee - your hormones/levels of whatever can change overnight. PLus the wee in the pot will start to degrade and might give false results

Oh - you can wash out the pot you took with you if you still have it. Or use an old film canister. They'll also have loads of 'spares' too so don't worry

I always feel slightly uneasy about the disposable / recycling issue of using a strong little plastic pot for every sample of wee. Multiplied by all the pregnant women in the country that's a lot of landfill.

Would it be too weird to ask for my pot back and wash it and use it next time? Has anyone ever done this or thought about it?

I used to get offered my pot back.

Just rinse out the one you have and reuse it. You can always ask for your pot back.

Put the pot by the loo so you don't forget tomorrow.

When I was pg (2 yrs ago) they only gave me one pot, was expected to wash it out in between times. More eco-friendly I spose

small yoghurts pots etc

as long as clean doesnt have to be sterile

i was going to be late for appointment, was also BURSTING for the wee and couldnt find pot...

How the hell does anyone manage to wee in those little tubes anyway! At my hospital they want it there and then so no filling the little tube from a pot earlier in the morning!

i got a little funnel at booking appt. was told to keep, wash & reuse , esp for late stages. boy was MW right, even will funnel, can see or aim very well!
