Baby Movement (first time mum)

Hi all

I'm a first time mum, 20+2 weeks. I felt my baby for the first time on Monday and Tuesday of this week (it's now Saturday), some fluttering and a couple of definite kicks. Since then though, I've had nothing. Is this a normal pattern? I know the baby is still very small, but I just wondered if this pattern is normal at this stage, and I should just be patient waiting for movement again or concerned?

Grateful for any advice - I'm so keen to know if the wee one is ok.

xx

I didn’t feel any regular noticeable movements until I hit 24 weeks, I’m 28 now and still worry when he is quieter than usual, often jabbing him to wake him up to ease my own mind 😂 I’m first time mum who had a miscarriage this time last year. Try your best not to worry, although you can’t feel them, they’ll be wiggling around

I felt my first when I was on a plane going on holiday. I was 19 weeks. I then didn't feel her move again for the entire holiday and had a horrible time because I was so worried about it. She's now a 6 year old! I think it is very normal not to feel them regularly for another few weeks yet. A midwife will be able to tell you - maybe 23/24 weeks or so. I'm sure your midwife would be happy to alleviate any worries if you give them a bell. Anything unusual - check it out x
