Hi evreyone!
I am the dad of a wonderful 2 1/2 year old boy.
We recently got the news that my wife wife pregnant for our second child.
Evreything was fine till we got at our first appointment at 11,4 weeks (Dating scan)
The doctor was not able to take the Nuchal transluency mesurments because it was to blury. She refered us to a specialist. We know something was wrong! She said he it coulb be due to a chromosome problem.
We left the hospital with 0 answers.. I said to myself no way we wait weeks to go see a specialist not knowing whats going on.
So i decided to find a private clinic. Found one at 7h of drive. so i called them and they took us the next day. They told us we should do a DNA test with that, for trisomy 13,18 and 21. After the blood test, we went for a NT scan. the mesurments of the liquid behind the feotus nec.

Ours came out at 5.4mm ...... I knew right away it was not good. Made alot of reserche before going at that appointment! Just wanted to cry my life. I know it's not a diagnostic but still.

Now we are back home, waiting for the blood test to come back, we should have it in the next few days. We are nervous as hell.

I will update as soon i get updates!

thankyou

I'm sorry, I don't have any experience of this but wanted to wish you well and I hope you get some good news from the bloods.

Ive had this experience twice with different outcomes. With my 4th pregnancy my DD had an increased NT of 6.1mm and we were referred to specialists who confirmed. We then had to go for echochardiogram which was clear. We turned down chromosomal testing and she was born Christmas 2020 absolutely perfect with no health problems. In April 2022 my 5th pregnancy our DD had an increased NT of 5.3mm and we were referred again. They said she also had a cystic hygroma and we decided on the amniocentesis. On the day of our appointment her little heart had stopped beating and her post mortem showed she had trisomy 13. My only advice would be to stay positive...your next scans will be able to tell more markers. I wish you all the best and sending all my positive thoughts and prayers your way💗
