No heartbeat but a sac with an egg yolk in - what’s the chances of it being successful?

Hi everyone,

So I went for my first scan on 5th august which I thought I was around 12 weeks, however when they scanned me it showed I had one empty sac and another sac with the tiniest fetal hole in, since then I went back after 10 days to be told the larger sac was internal bleeding and the other sac has got bigger with the egg yolk also developed since last time so as they couldn’t find a heartbeat they have now told me to go back again in a weeks time so I’m due to go next Monday 22nd and I’m just not sure how it’s going to go…I’m confused with the dates as it is my last period was 13th May and I have bled straight after inter course at the beginning of July so I’m not sure if I have lost one and conceived straight after as I took a pregnancy test on 19th June and I have still had no period but that might be to do with the internal bleed! I just want to know any success stories if the egg yolk sac will grow enough to be a viable pregnancy and hopefully there is a heart beat 🙏🏻 Any help and advice would be much appreciated!

I’m having similar. I had a FET July 19
had a scan last Saturday was told I’m 6w4d and saw yolk sac and told to return in a week. This week I’ve I’m now only 6w6d and still no heart beat. I’m so sad after multiple losses to be going through what is possibly another loss.

I am so sorry you have been going through the same, I haven’t even been told how far along I could be. I am due to go back on Monday and I have got it in my head that there will be no heartbeat it’s really sad as I had a miscarriage last November too but it was too early on that I didn’t have a scan then, so this time it just seems so long winded especially if im so early on to then be told it’s a failed miscarriage and then to choose the options for miscarriage which im not looking forward to! I hope you’re ok, when are you due to go back again?

I had my 3rd misscariage in Nov 2021 when we found out I have underactive thyroid and been medicated since. I go back next Saturday pray we get good results. Good luck also

So I went for another scan today and unfortunately it wasn’t good news for us, we have lost the baby. It was a blighted ovum which I was prepared for. Let me know how you get on, on Saturday. Good luck

I'm so sorry. I don't even know what to say. I expect to hear blighted ovum on Saturday to do. I pray we both get our rainbow babies.

I don’t even think anyone knows what to say this time is harder as I have to choose how it goes, I had a miscarriage last November and i just had like a period and had no scan! Fingers crossed for you that’s not the case and there’s a healthy baby there! Thank you going to leave it until after the new year to try again

No heart beat abnormally large yolk sac must stop meds and await the natural loss. Been told to do genetic testing. Sad but trying to keep it moving.

@Sharishari im so sorry to hear that it’s awful as you get all the symptoms feel and may even look pregnant but no baby. I took 4 tablets Tuesday and it’s work I haven’t been too bad with the pain etc just have up and down days trying to stay positive giving my body a rest and see what happens next year! Hope we get our rainbow babies one day 🙏🏻

It's so awful what we go through. All my social media posts are about babies and fertility it's so cruel. And Plp always say oh how many children do you have when I have none. It's just hurtful. I'm going to have all the tests under the sun and then when I have solid answers will try again however long that takes. Good luck for future.

It really is and that is the same with my social media too it’s so hard to see when people are announcing their pregnancies and that’s what we should be doing! Aww well I hope you get all the answers you need and it will happen! Good luck with everything
