Positive Down Syndrome First Trimester Serum Screening

Hello, I just read the dreaded test result that my first trimester serum testing for down syndrome shows a 1 in 47, indicating high risk. My NT ultrasound had been normal. I will be close to 35 years old at time of labor. I'm going to schedule to NIPT next, but in the meantime, has anyone gotten similar results and everything was ok? Riddled with anxiety right now.

Hi OP. I haven't had the same (though am waiting for my letter/call as had dating scan last week) but try to keep in mind that 46/47 i.e. 97% of women with your result will have a negative result.

You haven't had a positive Down Syndrome test result. You have been told that the chance is 1 in 47.

That is just over 2.1%, so almost 98% likely to be negative.

@SnowdaySewday, True... but the cut off was 1/150.. so 1/47 seems pretty slim... :(

Just wanted to send you a bit of hope. I'm currently sat in a park watching my very healthy fit and active 11 year old play in the park. He has a 1/13 chance of having Down syndrome! I had a CSV I think it's called (it's been so long!) But saw this thread and just wanted to say there's hope!
