I'm pregnant with my second child and of course planning on using all the stuff we have for our current 2 year old...

Just wanted to ask if there was any unique you found you needed or was very useful when having to deal with 2 children?

We have all the usual stuff, baby swing, sleepyhead, etc.

Thanks!

I bought DS a selection of toys (I’m talking half a dozen) that I could whip out on those really sleep deprived, stuck under baby, but he needs attention moments. Worked a treat.

It’s probably just wise to have lots of places you can put the baby down for when the toddler is running at the wall with a felt tip.

I’ve got some chicco bassinet thing which goes up really high so that toddler couldn’t reach baby but then comes down mega low so he could talk to baby too. The 4 in 1 something. I’ll google and return…

Congratulations OP!

Sling for newborn. With the second we needed the sling immediately rather than a few weeks in and at 4lb my second was below the weight limit for the two we used the first time round, which in addition weren’t easy for the newborn stage because somehow the legs just aren’t right until they are bigger).
Luckily we had a secondhand cloth sling kicking about and there are techniques for tiny babies).

I have definitely used the sling more in the house this time. Other than that, a robot hoover!

Thank you!

I didn't think of having a swing at different heights. We have one which is low but I can see how my toddler could really annoy baby. Thanks will look into that

@Eixample thanks I'm actually not sure if our sling is a newborn one so will check!

100% wrap sling saved my life
It's comfy for both me and the new born
As previous posted mentioned a bag of pound land toys/colouring books was a life saver
Also if your bottle feeding Nuby milk cooling flasks was a life saver
Those were the only "different" things I had second time around

I got a Moses basket for downstairs when I had a toddler too, so I could put the baby out of reach from them if I needed to nip out the room for a second and knew they’d be safe.

Double pram too for getting them both out for a walk when things got too much at home 🤣
