Is it okay to take vitamin D in summer?

I'm currently pregnant and I wanted to take the recommended dose of folic acid but I can't swallow tablets, so I bought some gummies by a well known vitamin company and they have the right amount of folic acid needed in them but they also contain other vitamins, including 10 micrograms of vitamin D. I know vitamin D is needed in pregnancy as well but I also know that it's not normally recommended to take it in summer as your body is producing more with the sunshine, so I just wondered if anyone knew if it was okay to still take them or would I be getting too much vitamin D? Thank you

Yes completely fine to take! You need more vitamin d in pregnancy. I don't think I've ever heard that people shouldn't take it in the summer... it's recommended to take year round esp in the UK

You are extremely unlikely to overdose on it @Purpletopaz42, you need to be taking in way more than that (there are vitamin D supplements in dosages x5-10 what you are taking - got to be careful with that, but not with your 10mg).
