Scan when obese

This is my second child, I was overweight with first but now firmly in the obese category and a bit nervous about upcoming dating scan. Can anyone with a bmi over 33 give me their experiences? I'm 15 1/2 stone and still look about six months pregnant even though my first is three 🤣

You'll be fine. Don't give it another thought.

I had to have an internal scan as they couldn't see from the external scan.

Was that your 12 week scan? Mine will be when I'm 14 weeks though an internal scan doesn't bother me at all

My BMI was 32 for both pregnancies and they could see fine

They just asked me to lift my tummy up and could see fine. They might ask you to turn on your side too depending on the position of baby. Dont worry :)

My bmi was 40 odd, took them a little longer to get measurements (on 20 week scan) image isn’t as clear as others but all fine!

BMI 34 in first pregnancy, 36 with second. Only problems I had with scans was baby position, as apparently I produce wriggly/obstainant children who hate being scanned. The sonographer had to press a little hard, and the pictures are a bit grainy, but it was fine. No need for an internal scan.

I'm firmly in the obese category too!!! 16 stone and 5 foot 7 I worried myself sick about what would happen at the scan but it was fine, I've attached a picture of my 13 week one...my belly kinda sinks over me when I lie flat so it wasn't too bad, Ive also added a picture of that for perspective lol. I was prepared for an internal scan but it was fine in the end. 3rd pregnancy...was only slightly over weight with my first so this has been a whole different experience!! Xx
