Did anyone else get nausea with no sickness? I am nearly 8 weeks and have nausea a lot and bad food aversions but no sickness, does anyone else have/had this? X

Really common. I had hyperemesis gravidarum so can't relate but the majority of my friends and nct group has nausea with minimal/no actual vomiting.

Congratulations on your pregnancy!

LightandMomentary · 15/08/2022 10:05

Entirely normal. I had this with my first 2 pgs and then the nausea with vomiting with my 3rd pg.

Yep, no sickness first time around, only a little second.

First one is nearly 2 and doing my nut in, second is due October!

Congratulations!

Had nausea but no vomiting with both my pregnancies. The nausea also eased if I ate something, I had to force myself to eat but I felt better after.

QueenOfWeeds · 15/08/2022 10:07

Yes! I felt like I had a permanent hangover for the first 14 weeks… still do if I get even slightly dehydrated or tired.

WaltzingWaters · 15/08/2022 10:10

Yeah I had a lot of nausea but only actually sick a few times very late into first trimester. Very normal. My nausea always came when I was hungry, so worth trying to have a snack before getting too hungry.

hol92 · 15/08/2022 10:15

Permanent hangover is exactly what it’s like! From the moment I open my eyes, even in the night, I can only eat bland foods and struggle to eat so the no sickness was throwing me off and making me a little worried so it’s nice to know others have had the same!

another thing that started happening yesterday is when I eat I feel like the food is just sitting in the back of my throat. Xxx

ginger biscuits is what I’ve been eating to ease the nausea :) x

Yes! Constant nausea that nothing can relieve. I'm 15 weeks and still have it, not vomited once this whole time although I felt like I was very close! I almost wish I would throw up just once to get some relief, even if just temporarily.

Cdoc · 15/08/2022 10:44

I’m 10+4 and this has been me for the past 3-4 weeks! Feeling very fortunate to not actually be sick, though the nausea is overwhelming and doesn’t seem to be relenting. It starts after I eat breakfast and only stops for very short periods when I’m actually eating, then comes back. I get the throat feeling too! I thought it was some sort of gas build up but who knows. Hoping it starts to get a bit better soon as all I am really eating is cereal and white bread.

You definitely aren’t alone 😊

ANiceBigCupOfTea · 15/08/2022 10:49

Yep, very much the case for me. A bit of gagging/retching here and there (sorry for tmi) but no actual vomiting as such.

Numbat2022 · 15/08/2022 10:54

Yup, I felt sick constantly (very much like a constant hangover) from week 6 to 20, major food aversions and gagged at any strong smell. But I was only sick every few days, usually if there was a particularly bad smell or I was extra tired.

Numbat2022 · 15/08/2022 10:55

I lived on salty beige carbs for most of my pregnancy. Completely went off sugar until very late on (although made up for it on mat leave!).

bogoblin · 15/08/2022 12:13

Try antacids like Rennies or Gaviscon for the throat feeling. My reflux always feels sicky in my throat!

Fificn · 15/08/2022 12:39

Hi ladies looking for any advise I am 7 weeks and have horrible nausea and like some of you ladies haven't actually been sick (finger crossed stays that way)I hadn't experienced this with my other two pregnancies (girl) (twin girls) have seen some products like ginger tablets and sprays that are supposed to help nausea can anyone recommend any. Also I am incredibly surprised to have nausea this time around especially since I had no nausea with the twins. Thanks

PollyDarton1 · 15/08/2022 12:44

Yep, I had the nausea (and hangover feeling) with no vomiting until mid 2nd trimester, then went away until the latter few weeks. The only thing that helped was eating little and often - salty, beige carbs were my lifeline.

hol92 · 15/08/2022 20:48

Thank you everyone! Has definitely eased my mind a bit :) was your nausea also worse some days than others? Xxx
