I’m 34 weeks pregnant and few days ago I lost my mucus plug I think… today I woke up with diarrhoea and bad period pains. My stomachs rock hard and I’m in a lot of pain.also got backache all through my back and Im constantly needing a pee and after peeing I’m still noticing fluid leaking out.
I was looking for some advice I don’t want to be a pain and ring midwife’s as I’m constantly ringing them up. Is this normal

I would say it would definitely be worth ringing the midwives. If you're in lot of pain ... that doesn't sound like BH to me (though I had them quite mild).

Worth checking OP.

I have a lot of BH every day and nothing like this happens. Not sure if it is labour but ring your delivery suit / maternity assessment unit for advice for sure. I also call them loads and I know how you feel, but this is new symptoms to you and they will understand xx

hope all goes well for you, and it is always best to get it checked out when something doesn’t feel quite right.

BH isn't supposed to be painful I'd definitely get checked out. Don't worry about calling too much rhey would rather check you over. Mucus plugs can regenerate so that might not be too much of a worry but you should get checked if your in pain.

Update,
I am currently in hospital in labour waiting on doctors to examine how far dialated I am and if I need to have labour slowed down

Sounds familiar.
I had what I thought were BH, turned out to be labour and DC was born at 31 wks.
Was given something to speed up lung maturation but you may be far enough gone not to need it.
Good luck OP

Glad you've gone in to be checked out. I always think, if in doubt, get checked out! Midwives would rather you 'bother them' and it be nothing than ignore early labour x

lillipilli · 14/08/2022 21:29

Oh my goodness, how good that you made it to a hospital, they will look after you there and will get you and the baby help you both need xx
