I've got myself into a tizz I went for an early scan yesterday where I thought I was 6+3 but apparently I was 5+5. My cycles range from 28-33 days and me and dh dtd 5th,7th,12th,15th,19th july my app said I was fertile from 10th-15th and ovulated on the 14th July. However I have noted on my app ewcm on the 15th so I may of ovulated here. I got a v v v faint bfp on 24th of July which would make me nearly 3 weeks pregnant when I got my bfp. How is this right? Surely I have to give time for implantation and stuff if I ovulated on the 15th, very latest it could be would be the 19th which wouldn't make sense even more cos its even less time for implantation!

Do my dates sound about right for my scan or could this be a sign of a failed pregnancy? A gestational sac was seen, and a yolk sac and I'm sure she said the baby was 2mm but no fetal pole yet or hb. Literally going out of my mind with worry I have to go back in 2 weeks but I'm scared it will be the same 😞😞😞

Hey op, do you have a screen shot of your tracking app?

Ewcm can often come for a day or two before you ovulate. So you may have ovulated 16/17 /18 July, in which case you'd be a little behind the dates you thought. How faint was the bfp? As if a FRER? I think earliest you can get a v v v faint line on a FRER would be 7/8dpo, and even then unlikely but if it was on 24th you could have ovulated on 16/17 and still got a super faint one of you implanted early lime 5/6dpo which is possible.

But the fact they saw a yolk sac etc is great, honestly is so early on I would try not to worry. I am 5+4 and had an early scan Fri to rule out ectopic and they also saw a yolk sac but no baby yet . Are you going back to check it in a couple weeks? X

You calculate your dates from the date of your last period so what date was that? Your scan sounds about right for 5+5 I don’t think they can see much apart from the gestational sac and yolk sac at that stage x

The hearts are the day we dtd. My lmp was 29/06/2022. It was honestly so so so faint I've inverted it for you to see, it was a clear blue and a ic, the day after I got a not pregnant on cb digital. I'm hoping it means I just ovulated late or implanted late 😞 I did have ewcm on the 14th I think, but I was on holiday so wasn't really taking much notice just felt like I had ovulation pains but in hindsight it couldn't be. I've attached a picture of my last cycle too, it was a long month do you think that could be why? Just when your first lmp starts your supposed to be already 2 weeks pregnant so just don't know how it would work!

Yeah they have advised a rescan in 2 weeks, I got my dating scan through yesterday aswell just seems all good ti be true 😞

I'm not worried about the scan, I'm worried about my dates being changed and having a mmc and my body not realising yet 😞

A last period of 29/6/22 and say approx 30 day cycle would put you at 6 weeks. So being 2 days out sounds pretty normal to me and my experience

This is what I seen prior to being 6 weeks.
And even just a day can make a massive difference.

Well she moved me back 5 days so I was 6w3d and she said I'm 5w5d, I've read stories about things like this happening and the pregnancy doesn't develop 😞

I think it's likely you ovulated later than you thought OP. As others have said one or two days can make a huge difference as to what is seen on a scan. I'd try not to worry as best for both you and the pregnancy to relax and what will be will be! I know easier said than done but they fact they saw a yolk sac is a very good sign. If you are v worried you could ask the doctor or hospital to do some HCG blood tests two days apart to check it's doubling as it should. And the rescan in a couple of weeks will put your mind at rest. X

Whilst yes that can happen, you can also go on to have a healthy pregnancy.

This why I wish places would scan before 7/8 weeks

@Skylark1990 she said she wasn't worried she said everything is going as it should I'm just too early. She said something about lower end of normal? She said she wasn't sure if she could see a fetal pole or not. This is the report that got sent to me after x

An important thing to remember is that with everything being so small, even fractions of millimetres can change your result by days.

I think it is reasonable that you could have ovulated the 15th, but sperm didn't meet egg until a couple days later. And you got a BFP probably about as early as it could be detected.

Finally, with your cycles being longer on average, I believe it's normal to ovulate 14 days before the start of your next period. So an ovulation date between 12th, right up to the 17th is to be expected. And it sounds like it was certainly on the later side of things.

@Dyra apparently on the 18th I was 2 weeks pregnant and I logged that we dtd 15th,12th,10th,7th and also the 19th so could this be accurate? Means I would of ovd on the 20th day, which means my cycle was longer that month, I had 2 periods in June 1st to the 5th and 29th then rolling into July finishing on the 3rd

I've looked and I logged some orangey tan discharge on the 25th which would of been 7dpo after latest day I could ovulate, I had the faintest positive by then. So which makes them right doesn't it?

Hello, congratulations! I went for early scans and was put back by 5 days from my tracking app... very similar to you saw a sac and pole on the first scan and then 2 weeks later a heartbeat... around the same dates too. I was then scanned every 2 weeks until 12 weeks where each scan at the EPAU said the same dates and growth measurements was perfectly inline with them then at my 12 week scan they put me forward 5 days again to the back to my predicted due date from my tracking app. Good luck such an exciting time, hope your scan goes well in 2 weeks xx

@candycrush789 That orangey tan could have been implantation, so everything crossed. A combination of late ovulation and scan being off slightly could make all the difference between your dates.

Really hope you get good news in two weeks.

I had an early scan and thought I was 7+2 but was pushed back to 6+4. Midwife said it's very common and nothing to be worried about. At 6+4 I saw a heartbeat, so you shouldn't be too far off seeing that flickering away too!

Hi OP, I went for an early scan on my CD50 (so should've been over 7 weeks by then) but they said I was more like 5 weeks and to wait a bit and come back. Went back on CD71 and they put me at 7+5 so means I must've ovulated around CD30. Currently 33+1 and all going fine 🤞🏻
I do/did have irregular cycles ranging from 26 days to 50. Just wanted to offer my story as hope that maybe your ovulation was slightly off and therefore so are your dates and hopefully everything will be fine when you go back!

Thank yiu! I usually ovulate on the 3rd week of every month without fail. Going by the dates they've given me, it was the 4th week. I have a 27-33 day cycles I thought this was pretty regular but clearly not 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️x

hi everyone, so I went to what I thought would be my 12 week scan on 5th august to find out that was one empty sac and the other sac had the tiniest dot in it so at that point they didn’t know whether it was a bleed or intrauterine twin pregnancy so asked me to go back in 10 days time. Today was the day I went back to be told the empty sac was actually a bleed and the the other sac with the little dot had doubled in size from the last time I went but could not detect a heartbeat so I now have to go back in a weeks time for another scan to see if it has grown enough for the pregnancy to be viable. It seems my dates have been mixed up but my last period was on 13th May I did bleed a little after intercourse twice early July and had brownish discharge! I am just confused with the dates, have I conceived again since before, has anyone gone through anything similar and had a successful pregnancy? I don’t get why it’s grown but not detected a heartbeat but I might not be as far on as I think? Any help would be much appreciated, thanks in advance

Just an update incase anyone finds this thread later on, had my scan today and saw a little bean with a heartbeat 😍😁 measuring 1 day of from what the scan put me as but all very healthy and looking good 😊😊 thank you ladies for all your advice xx
