Hi everyone I'm new to this site so bare with me , just after advice .. I recently had a baby 18 weeks ago by c-section and now found out I'm about 5 weeks pregnant again we were using contraception but obviously didn't work ... has anyone else had a pregnancy this close after c-section and is it safe

I had 2 c sections in under 2 years but not as close together as you. I conceived DC2 the month of DC1's first birthday. All was fine for me, however there can be serious risks associated the it due to your body not having had enough time to heal. Uterine rupture can be fatal for the mother. Speak to your Health Visitor/Midwife. They'll likely keep a very close eye on you throughout the pregnancy.

Do you have to have a csection again, or want to, or could consider a vbac?

You won’t be able to have a vbac, as there’s a higher risk of rupture soon after section, and they’d probably suggest an elective section to avoid contractions.

A friend had two c-sections just under a year apart (second child was a surprise) and she was fine; I think she was strongly advised to have a second section.

Thank you everyone .. I would have the c section again wouldn't want to put any extra risk by going for a vbac
