Hi ladies,

I have have been quite swollen down below the past 3 weeks. I can see something slightly coming out of my vagina which the nurse has checked twice and told me it’s normal and I have just got a lot of pelvic pressure down there.

ehlers danlos runs in my family (a connective tissue dissorder) I told her my worries and she said it makes no difference to the outcome of pregnancy. Had my last child 3 years ago and had none of this !

I am so worried since googling it says about incompetent cervix and early labour and pelvic pressure being a symptom. Not sure what else I can do since the nurse has checked me. (She said it’s not a prolapse even though you can see bulging from my vagina hole)

it feels so heavy down there like baby’s head is coming out that’s the only way I can describe it. Also achy kind of pains. It’s really making me uncomfortable and worried. Has anyone else experienced similar at this stage ?

Hey I have the exact same, I was 20 weeks pregnant yesterday, it’s my 4th baby, with my last I needed crutches as I couldn’t walk due to pelvic pressure from 30 weeks this time i can only describe it as the same as you like there’s a bulging and everything is about to fall out my vagina, I haven’t been checked down there as I’m on holiday but I do want someone to. Also getting back pain. I’ve also previously mentioned my concerns to my Gp before this pregnancy that I think I may have elhers danlos syndrome as we also have family history of it but she was a little dismissive and just said she could refer me but the only thing they’d really do is give me physio if I did have it and at the time I was already having physio due to pelvic and hip pain I had from the previous pregnancy so it seemed pointless. Sorry I can’t offer u any advice but you aren’t alone in your worries as I feel exactly how u described it x

I am at risk of incompetent cervix, I have an internal scan every few weeks to measure the length and health of my cervix on the NHS.

If you’re being fobbed off, are you able to afford a scan privately? Ultrasound Diagnostics do medical scans, so it’s possible they might also have a service to check cervix?
