Hello
I'm 43 and 12 weeks pregnant, I went for my 12 week scan yesterday and sonographer found it really difficult to get a clear picture as she said my womb is tilted..I had to go for a walk..have a wee..drink more water, wiggle hips..she still found the measurements difficult but she managed to get a nt of 6.1mm also she said that there might be a abdominal wall defect..i have to go in again tommorow to see a consultant and get another scan..my question is is there any chance the scan could be innacurate because it was so hard so scan or do you think im just hoping to much? ..anyone else had an innacurate scan? Thanks

Didn't want to read and run, sounds like your apt tomorrow is to double check everything with a consultant and will likely be a more detailed scan. If it was a difficult scan then yes possible for inaccurate measurements etc. All you can really do is wait and see what Dr says at your scan tomorrow. If they are concerned they might refer you to a fetal medicine unit for more testing/scans or offer you NIPT - depending on whether you wanted screening for downs syndrome or not.
