Hello,

I think I may be being a bit overly regimented with detecting a pattern.

What I think my babies pattern is:

  • about 10/20 mins in the early morning
  • little kicks and wriggles every hour or so,
  • bit more 10 minute movement at midday
  • then random kicks and movements occasionally every hour or so untill the late evening when it picks up a bit more with lots of wiggles, pushes and belly movements.

But I keep wondering is it the exact same time or day you are looking out for or is it just general movements like I have described above.

What are your babies movements like? Do they have a pattern?

Not an expert but what you've described sounds normal to me Smile

Remember it's a little human not a robot, like us they'll likely wake up/sleep at slightly different times and for different lengths of time each day, maybe want a random stretch or change of position now and again. You don't need to be regimented about it, just get to know what's usual for your baby.

Congratulations and best wishes for your pregnancy and baby's arrival Smile

Some babies have no pattern. I used a kick counts bracelet instead. You can get them online.

@bombombo thank you for your message! You are right - sometimes I wake up at 6, sometimes 7, sometimes 9 haha. So how can we expect baby to be totally to the same rhythm everyday!

@Habada that's a good idea, I saw some on the kicks count website I might order:)

Sounds like a good pattern. I don’t ever time how long the movements last for but generally in the morning she’s active, then at lunchtime and then before bed she comes to life! Generally throughout during the day I get kicks here and there :) but those are the three main periods I always look on for! So if I didn’t feel her during morning, lunch or bedtime I’d then know the pattern was off.
