Spent the evening at A&E and EPU, have to go back for a scan in the morning. Having heavy bleeding and clots, filling a pad every couple of hours and loads when I go to the toilet. Have been bleeding now for 24 hours. Is this the end? I’m heartbroken.

So sorry angel, I didn't want to read and run. It sounds like alot of bleeding but I've got my fingers crossed for you tomorrow ❤ xx

I bled a one-off, really heavy bleed at 12 weeks in my first pregnancy. I was convinced it was the end, but they wouldn't scan me for two more days due to it being a weekend. The wait was awful, so I can completely empathise with you on that. My baby was absolutely fine though and they couldn't identify what caused the bleed - "just one of those things." I didn't have any clots though. I also didn't have any pain and that was the main reason why the midwives on the phone thought the baby would be ok. Do you have any pain? Good luck for the morning, I'll be thinking of you.

I have no experience to share but have heard it happen and end up okay, really hope that’s the case for you. Fingers crossed for tomorrow 🤞🏼X

I had the same. In fact it looked like I was haemorrhaging Today I celebrated that baby’s 43rd birthday!

I had a big gushing bleed at 8 weeks, was absolutely sure I was miscarrying as there was just so much blood. I had an agonising 3 day wait before I could be scanned. Scan day arrived, I was still bleeding and I was terrified but scan showed my 2 babies alive and well, I couldn’t believe it. No reason for the bleeding could be seen. I had a few more bleeds through the pregnancy and it never could be seen on the scans, so I never knew why it happened. I googled my ass off and these are some of the reasons for bleeding:

Cervical ectropion - this is harmless to the pregnancy, your cervix just bleeds due to the hormonal changes during pregnancy.

Sub-chronic haematoma (I’ve cocked the spelling of that up terribly I’m sure) these can resolve on their own, they can be harmless and sometimes not, it rather depends on the positioning.

Bleeding in pregnancy is more common that we tend to think, but unfortunately bleeding can also indicate a miscarriage and sadly there is no fool proof way to tell whether it’s all ok or not. You just have to cross your fingers and hope for the best.

I hope the time until your scan passes quickly and sending hugs as I know how awful the wait is. Wishing you all the very best OP 💐

I hope you're ok

I had red bleeding with my first, and everything was ok.

I also had pink discharge with my third.

You never know, prepare for the worst but hope for the best

Good luck Flowers

Thank you for your stories.

It is exactly like a period, if I didn’t know I was pregnant that’s what I’d think it was. Same volume as a period with the same dull period pain. I’m still bleeding this morning. Scan at 10am.

I bled for three days at about 6 weeks and had a healthy baby

Rose559 · 09/08/2022 15:10

They couldn’t find any signs of a pregnancy on internal and external scans. Still having positive tests. Had bloodwork done and have to go back in 2 days for more to check HCG levels.

Hi @Rose559 , I am currently in this situation and wondering what was your outcome?
had a bleed and cramping , they checked my cervix said it was closed , bleeding was mild according to docs .
Then they done scans internal and on the tummy. They couldn’t see signs of foetus so said it is probably complete miscarriage.
but have also told me to come back in a week to use a better scanning machine . Not sure what to think. I feel like i hadn’t bled enough for it to be a loss, that could be the denial creeping in though.
