Hi, I am all new to this and my dilemma is i am 6 days overdue and really hoping things will start happening soon...I've had a bit of leaking since yesterday morning 4am and my belly seems to harden up for 30 minutes at a time - is this BH as it's painless? How can I tell whether these are contractions? I'm confused cos they last so long...

Wow at you having a 17yo

gibberish · 20/01/2008 02:02

Got to go to bed but hope you are ok tonight. Will check in the morning

Worst thing is midwives looking at notes, seeing an entry for previous birth and assuming I know what I'm doing! Was so long ago, don't remember much at all and was only a teen myself then...good thing is I'm really looking forward to doing it all again (with a little girl this time + hubby)

Yeah but every birth is so different, don't think anyone knows what it will be like!

Do you know you are having a girl?

And more importantly, have things got going yet? Hope you got some sleep.

sarahmsqt · 20/01/2008 12:33

Yeah, I know it's a girl and I managed to get a few hours sleep...nothing happened yet, going for a walk to the park in a minute, hubby suggested I try sitting on the swings!!!

lol Good for you if you can still fit in the swings at this late stage

sarahmsqt · 20/01/2008 16:27

oops, never got to the swings, went back to bed instead! Going to have a shower and give them another call, then drive up there (about 3mm clearance to steering wheel!)and get the leak checked out...hubby now has flu and is ill in bed, he wants to come along but I think I'll pefer to go on my own rather than have to worry about him...don't think anything immediate is going to happen, if they decide to induce, I can ring him and ask them to wait half an hour!

At least you will have a long time before you need to go through it with you little girl

Hope you can get a good sleep tonight.
