Have I got the dates wrong or something

Hey all

I know I definitely wasn’t on my period on 23/6, which is meant to make me 6 weeks. I just had an early scan, as I was feeling cramps here and there and miscarried last year so was getting quite anxious. The person said that what they saw wasn’t what they would expect to see at 6 weeks and either (i) I got the dates wrong - which I can’t understand how I could have or (ii) it’s another miscarriage/early pregnancy failure.

Is there anything I can do to keep my nerves down? I’m struggling to see how the date can be wrong. Now I’ve been told to go and get my bloods checked...

When did the sonographer say you were due? It’s also to do with ovulation rather than period although they count it from the period. Any idea when you ovulated?

No idea when I ovulated… sonographer they couldn’t 100% tell how far I was but I didn’t look as developed as 6 weeks. Using the date I know I was on DD is 30/3/23

It is possible the dates are wrong. I'm currently 32 weeks pregnant but my last period was 9th Dec! We booked an early scan at what we thought would be seven weeks and the dates put us at more like four. I think I ovulated around CD30 😂

We went back a few weeks later and they put us at 7+5 x

Can you explain a bit more about your dates OP? Definitely not being on your period on 23/6 doesn't mean that's when you conceived?

thanks so much for all your responses. @AverageJoan That puts me a bit at ease.
@SavingsThreads I thought the calculation date is from the first day of your last period - which is why I’m clinging on to 23/3

I would say it depends on when you ovulated. My last missed period was 3rd December so 6 days before @AverageJoan but I'm currently 36+1 so pretty much a whole month ahead in terms of my due date which hopefully shows you that last missed period is a bit flimsy for working out how far along you are

It is, but in the assumption that everyone ovulates smack in the middle of a 28 day cycle. What's more relevant is when you ovulated, and when you had sex.
