So my period was last on the 6th of april to the 10th of april and me and my partner lived in different countries, i was moving in with him on the 7th of may so we didnt meet in April however my period was due on the 3rd of may and it never came which we put down to stress of new job and moving in together we then moved in on the 7th of may and found out at the end of may i was pregnant! We had our 12 week scan the other day which from the 7th of may to then we predicted i fell pregnant that same day making us 12 weeks and 5 days however they told us the scan showed we was 14 weeks and 1 to 4 days and now we are both very confused and my partner thinks I cheated! Anyone please help and had same problem?

Since you ovulate about two weeks into your cycle, conception happens around the time you're two weeks pregnant – which means pregnancy starts before you've conceived.

I mean it thinks 15 weeks if you put date of conception as 7th May

Two weeks into my cycle would be 24th april but I didn’t sleep with my partner till the 7th of may after an already missed period which is confusing also

Yes , pregancy is usually calculated as starting 2 weeks after your last period. So yours is technically calculated as starting on 2 weeks after 6th April, ie 20th April. That would be the case even if you know you couldn't have got pregnant then.
Your dates might be adjusted slightly as your pregnancy progresses. Maybe get a medic to explain to your boyfriend.

Yes- so they add on 2 weeks from whenever you had sex. So if it was 12 weeks since you had sex, they would say you were approx. 14 weeks pregnant :)

Yes, I thought it was weird that a couple of weeks of ‘pregnancy’ were before you even conceived, but that’s how they work it out.

Still, you have a bigger issue here that your partner doesn’t trust you!

Its not that he doesn’t it was more of the fact i told him o was exactly 12 weeks and 5 days and couldn’t be anymore so when they said i was 14 weeks and 4 we both were like how so even i got really confused and when i asked the woman she just said i dont no how it’s possible but your 14 weeks and made it worse

Your LMP is a red herring because you skipped a period and so can’t be sure of ovulation. Hopefully the attached images help. You can see that ‘2 weeks’ (ie. Estimated date of conception) is 10th May. Scans can be a few days out one way or another so this fits perfectly with your 7th May estimate.

Saltyseawirch has it spot on. Forget about your last period, your ovulation must have been completely off, your pregnancy dates and conception lines up with your date you were with your boyfriend. You are in real terms 12 weeks from conception but 14 weeks for dating.
