I'm not a scrubber honestly ! I've been having showers !!
I've had severe anxiety this pregnancy and wouldn't have a bath even though I'm very much a bath person !
I'm 30 weeks now and staying at a relatives and they have a lovely big corner bath, and I can't resist !
I know I must sound mental but anxiety isn't rational is it.

I’m pregnant - and now confused - what’s wrong with baths??

Frida9 · 05/08/2022 19:18

I think it's that hot baths can increase your temperature which can increase the risk of miscarriage. I've been having baths every so often (14 weeks now) and make them cooler than usual but still warm, no adverse effects.

Nothing it's just as @Frida9 said. And I'm overly anxious !

Anyway had my bath, not as hot as usual but still, it was lovely !

I had baths every couple of days and my dd was born completely healthy. As long as the bath isn’t extremely hot and you don’t stay in there for over an hour then you’ll be okay.
My consultant recommended baths to help with aches and pains. Also my baby loved the bath, I’d always feel her kicking lots.

I didn’t have a bath the whole first trimester and I usually have a very long bath every night, it was torture 😩 there was nothing I wanted more! I was so delighted when he was born just to lie in a big warm bath for ages again 😂 (I’m typing this from the bath)!!

That sounds amazing! Im so jealous, I've always found bath's made me feel poorly during pregnancy and sitting in a body temp just doesn't do it for me 😭

It was awful not having a bath for so long at first but I got used to it eventually, got to say I've missed them !!

I love very hot baths, and I looked into the guidance not to have them in my last pregnancy, and it’s completely non-sensical/massively overcautious. For the water to be hot enough that it would impact the internal temperature of the womb it would be over boiling, you literally couldn’t get into the water. Bathe to your hearts content!

Light candles, drink herbal tea (the approved ones, obvs. 😁) and enjoy .
my most glorious pregnancy memory, 27 years ago, lying in a warm bath was a sudden complete turn. Her bum had been in front and I could suddenly see her tiny feet. It was just glorious.

(I could literally see her feet. Just gobsmackingly mind blowing)
