Yolk sac but no baby yet

Hi, just looking for some reassurance really.

I went for an early scan yesterday and they could see the gestational sac and yolk sac but no baby yet. Based on LMP I’m 6wks2days but my cycles are about 30 days and I ovulation tested this month & I know I didn’t ovulate until CD20.
The sonographer said it’s likely I’m earlier than LMP suggests (she dates me at 5+wks) and booked a re-scan in a week.

I’m quite anxious this pregnancy & trying to stay positive but was hoping for some positive stories to keep me going for the next week.

my first scan was only gestational sac 2 weeks later gestational and yolk therefore as there is growth they want to scan again.
im unsure how far along I am been told different at different scans.

This happened to me. Going by lmp was 7wks at scan but only measured 5w3d with no baby just sac.

it turns out if ovulated late. Am now 20 weeks pregnant and all has gone well so far.

I remember it being a long couple weeks til my rescan so I really empathise. Early pregnancy is such a worrying time x

This was from a while ago - went back a week later and saw heartbeat. Just had my 12 wk scan and little baby kicking around in there :)

I had the same, and had a 31 day cycle. The charming midwife told me I'd had a miscarriage and to go home and sort myself out.

Went back 2 weeks later and there was the heart beat.

First time I saw my little girl was at this stage - could see yolk sac but no baby yet.

All went fine - she's currently fast asleep next to me in bed aged 5 years.

The body is odd and timing has to be very intricate, you've more than likely just ovulated at a different time to what you were expecting.

I often see posts like this about 6 week scans showing no heartbeat. Seems these scans cause so much unnecessary stress.
