I'm 39 +3 with my second pregnancy. I was induced early with my first so not entirely sure what it's like to naturally go into labour. I'm booked in for a sweep at 40 +1 so not long, and I've my fingers crossed it works but I'm aware it might not.
However, for over a week now I've been getting period like cramps on and off, sharp pains right down below, lots of pressure down below, heart burn is worse and braxton hicks happening more often, several times a day every day (definitely not contractions as they aren't regular or painful.) The baby has been 3/5 engaged for the last 6 weeks and then at todays appointment is now 4/5 engaged. I also experienced a small amount of bleeding after sex a few days ago, and I mean small amount, it was pink in colour and just like a trace on the tissue.
I have then had a bout of diarrhea for the last 24 hours.
The midwife said these are all good signs but obviously can't tell me it means I'm going to go into labour anytime soon. I forgot to mention the bleeding however!
In your experiences, what is the likelihood I could go into labour naturally soon with these symptoms? Or that the sweep might work?
