Suspected Molar Pregnancy - Reassurance Please

Hi everyone.

So the doctors are suspecting a molar pregnancy as I have that typical snow storm pattern on my scan and they couldn't locate a normal sac or fetal activity. My HCG levels however are where they should be for 6-7 weeks, but I have been throwing up everyday. I passed a few grape like clots last night which concerned the doctor even more. I have more bloods tomorrow morning and another scan to confirm. Does anyone have any experience of this please?

Thank you so much in advance.

I'm so sorry @AprehensiveBee. I don't have direct experience but my husbands cousins previously had a molar pregnancy and got great support through molarpregnancy.co.uk. She required quite a lot of treatment but has since gone on to have 2 beautiful boys. Wishing you all the best x

Thank you for your kind words @Nejnej2 and the reassurance that it is possible to go onto have a healthy pregnancy x

Hi OP, I had a complete molar pregnancy in 2009. It was suspected due to significantly elevated HCG blood levels and later confirmed by an ultrasound. Following this I had a D&C to remove and then was followed up for 6 months to ensure the HCG levels were dropping as they should.

My daughter was conceived pretty much straight away following the go ahead to start trying again and I am 34 weeks now with our son. I hope this gives you some reassurance that although it feels like there is no light at the end of the tunnel right now that it is very much possible to go on and have healthy pregnancies :)
