5 weeks and period cramps stopped

Hi

I've had 3 previous losses so I'm really paranoid and anxious at the moment. With all my pregnancies I've always had period like cramps in weeks 4-5. They cramps have always stopped towards 5-6. I am 5 weeks now and the cramps seem to have stopped again. I feel like I worry when I get cramps that it's a sign of miscarriage but then when they stop I feel like it means the baby has stopped developing.

Anyone had period type cramps and wanna share when they stared and stopped? I still have really tender boobs and did a pregnancy test today which was really dark. Just can't shake off the feeling that I'm going to miscarry again 😢

I can understand your anxiety. I think the cramps are not cramps stop around that time. I know mine had gone by the time I got to 9 week scan. Are you able to see your midwife for reassurance?

chasingtherainbow1 · 04/08/2022 10:38

@Benjispruce4 thank you for your response. I have a scan with a private doctor next Tuesday so I guess I will I'll have to wait for that 😬

hi there i hope you dont mind me asking, but were you cramping everyday and if period like how did you find out you were pregnant? ive been hoping to conceive about a year now and so far no bfps, currently due af anytime but jeep hoping im pregnant despite obvious period cramps...but is it possible to have periodlike cramps and be pregnant?

chasingtherainbow1 · 09/08/2022 16:49

@carsty for most of my pregnancies I have found out about 3-4 days before my missed period and the cramps usually start a couple of days after a positive test. The pregnancy cramps I get are stronger than my period cramps because my period cramps are very very mild. I have found that the period like cramps are also linked to my gut and it's just everything going mad with the hormones.

After posting this, the cramps returned and I am 5w5d today but they are not accompanied with nausea. Got a scan layer so hoping it's all ok

@chasingtherainbow1 thanks for responding and all the best at your scan🤗🤗🤗

Benjispruce4 · 10/08/2022 09:13

OP hope your scan went ok. 🤞🏻

chasingtherainbow1 · 10/08/2022 09:27

@carsty @Benjispruce4 thank you. The scan went ok. Saw a gestational sac, yolk sac and start of a fetal pole but too small for a heartbeat. Naturally, I'm now worried it won't get further. Such an anxious time. Got a repeat scan next week so hoping for the best 🤞

All sounds good @chasingtherainbow1 . Only natural that your brain jumps to the worst scenario. Keep busy and good luck!

carsty · 10/08/2022 09:47

following as similiar pattern im 5+5
did u get a repeat scan OP? Hope your ok

chasingtherainbow1 · 17/08/2022 16:39

@J1290 hi yeah the cramps literally came back the next day. I also had a repeat scan on 15th where I would have been 6w4d and baby was measuring right on track with a heartbeat.

Still getting cramps now but much more mild than they were at 4-5 weeks. Got another scan next week so fingers crossed it's still ok!

Try not to worry about it too much like I did!

My first pregnancy (9w) and i found the cramps milder when I'm more rested and stronger when I've over-exerted/overheated

chasingtherainbow1 · 17/08/2022 22:48

@Whataretheodds y ah I think I've figured the same. And they're less strong if I'm hydrated too
