One swollen foot

Hi,

I'm 29 weeks pregnant and have noticed that my left foot is slightly swollen compared to my right. No pain and no heat in my leg. My legs have been feeling tight and my shoes have felt tighter these past few days and going walking has helped make them feel better. I haven't really taken much notice until today. Should I be worried?

I had this in my first pregnancy from about 34 weeks (it went after birth). Got checked out by A&E for a potential DVT as they were concerned it was only on one side but it wasn't. Had to have an ultrasound scan of my entire leg - the sonographer said I had very good veins! It was probably just the baby compressing something that stopped the fluid draining on that side.

If you're worried go and get checked out, but swollen feet is quite common in late pregnancy and it's been pretty hot recently which won't have helped.

Please get it checked. I had this for a couple of weeks. Mentioned it to midwife. She said probably the heat but sent me to get checked for DVT. It wasn't a DVT.

But they did other checks while there, I had pre eclampsia. Lucky I was 37 weeks, so was induced.
