Just after an opinion as I know you can't tell me what's the right thing to do as you would need a crystal ball

To cut a long story short.
I had my DD at 35 weeks due to severe pre eclampsia 6 years ago. It was an awful experience and one that took a long time to get over.
I'm slightly overweight and 39 years old and can't shake the feeling that if I didn't try for another I would regret it forever.
DD was very small at 5lbs but thankfully very strong and only needed a heat pad for 2 days.

Im am only child myself and struggled with that and feel like I'm depriving my own DD. But even if I do have another there would be a large age gap and no guarantee they would get on.
Consultants are vague with their opinion on whether PE would happen again so I just feel lost.

Would be grateful for your thoughts on whether you would try or just be grateful that I was lucky enough to have DD x

See if you can do a meet the midwife where you go over your birth notes with the matron. She maybe be able to give you some answers and put your mind at rest.

Thank you so much for your reply. This has been done and they just said it may happen or it may not. I would have regular monitoring etc.

I fear I've run out or im rapidly running out of time. X

It sounds as if you really want to try again, @crystalball22, and you'd really regret not going for it.

I had pre-eclampsia resulting in an emergency c-section - on top of that, I had post-partum pre-eclampsia too, which I didn't even know was possible. In spite of that, I'd try again in a heartbeat (unfortunately we can't as we needed donor egg IVF for DD) as they'll monitor you really closely this time around. Any signs will be picked up straight away.

If I were you, I'd go for it!

I'm 41, currently 36 weeks with my second. Had a stressful pregnancy last time for different reasons to you, and was adamant I was only having one, we changed our minds once we turned 40, my DD is seven, so quite a big age gap and she's so excited. My pregnancy has been the opposite to last time thankfully.
