Baby trying to turn head down, but failing!

I'm 34 weeks pregnant, and my baby is still breech. For the last week or so, his movements have been pretty crazy. They sometimes make me wince with pain, and it looks like he's trying to bust out through my stomach.

I think he's trying really hard to shift to head down, but it's like he's stuck or something. He keeps doing the same surging / rolling motion over and over, like he's kicking off with his legs and trying to dive down headfirst, but he just sort of bounces back to the same position. He'll try really hard for up to an hour normally, then get tired and rest, then start trying again.

I'm worried that he's somehow got stuck, or he's all tangled up in the cord so he can't move 🙁

The midwife says he's probably fine but I'm still concerned. Has anybody else experienced anything like this?

I'm not worried about the prospect of having a C-section, but I am worried that he might be distressed or tangled up.

If you're worried can you book a private scan to put your mind at rest ?

I think baby needs some gravity help, being on all 4s as much as possible should help. I used to do it when watching TV when mine was breech..... Seemed to do the trick.

@CombatBarbie might have a point. DD was breach and the midwife said it was too late in the pregnancy to turn (can't remember how many weeks I was). Anyway she did turn during a yoga class. Always remember it (she's 20' now!!)

Do you have a hot tub? It’s best getting in there in all 4s leaning over the side this helps baby move much for freely. If you don’t then a birth ball can help too if you get on all 4s and lean over it just stay there as long as you can I stay there while watching tv for a couple of hours
