Booking appointment by phone

Second baby do not my first rodeo. But this time my booking appointment is by phone. Assuming leftover from covid but how will they do the blood tests etc you have to have before 10 weeks if by phone? I thought things would have been a bit more 'normal'

Has anyone had a face to face midwife appointment recently?

I had my booking appointment over the phone and then a separate one for bloods etc. After that all midwife appointments have been f2f.

I had my booking appointment in person but they didn't do bloods or anything, just lots of questions about my health

hey not sure if this will help but I have a telephone appointment tomorrow with the midwife then also have a face to face booked for the following week 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️ Not really sure what the point of the phone call is 😂😂. Maybe once they have spoken to you they will book you for your face to face? Pretty sure most places are doing face to face now 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️

Yes in 2020 my booking was via phone, and then a separate in person one for bloods etc. Several of my other appointments were by phone too, but obviously that was the height of the pandemic. Also was 2nd DC so might have offered more in person appointments for 1st timers

Midwife Face to face for me too!
I do have a appointment with a consultant but that is over the phone hmmm I think that's as covid on a rise at my nearest hospital tho.

If i have a separate appointment then for bloods it doesn't make a lot of sense does it 🤣 but glad its not just me. My gp practice still make you wait in a queue for an hour+ at 8am to then decide if you get a telephone appointment to then decide if you get a face to face so not sure why I expected any different (my gp is large and has its own midwives)
